hi everyone,

ok i am in big trouble..........been going to pcp doctor every month for 6 months now. (have done all the other testing). i gained 10 pound in the last 6 months due to just not watching, no one told me i had to lose weight.

( i changed doctors after my 5th month due to no one getting back to me on difference things). duh should have known!! oh doctors name dr colella (pittsburgh):rolleyes2:...there office was awful.

now going to dr ramanathan (much better with info).

new doctors just informed me on weight loss, now i might have to go another 3 months before surgery.

big chance of being turned down. i am so upset.

has anyone else had this problem? any advice would be great!

thanks

I am not sure of your insurance but when I first started my process to get a approved I was with Cigna and they required I had to be under a Dr's care for 6 months. I changed Dr.'s a couple of times and did not have 6 months in a row. Then my company change the insurance in Jan/09 to Aetna and they required 3 months I had my dr that was trying to get me approve for my band just summit all of my paper work for all of my Drs. and they came back and approved me and I was banded on 03/30/09. Good luck and keep your head up it will all work out.:tt1:

One thing I saw on this board that really peaked my interest about the Protein Shakes is to buy sugar free instant Jello pudding in your favorite flavor and add a teaspoon of the dry powder to your plain old Protein shake for some great flavor - try it! it couldn't hurt! :tt1:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
