So lets make the next year the best one yet and work even harder to shed off those last few stubborn pounds till our goals!!!

Hi All Marchies, Jeni is right when she says that we all should be proud of ourselves. Even when I had my many setbacks, I still moved forward. I knew that moving forward was the only way to be where I am today. I don't have a buddy partner to help to reach our goal, but I am glad I have you. As much as I would like to be at goal weight by my anniversary I know I'll be there by my Birthday-July in my WhitePants. Hopefully hanging loose on me.

I'm almost back to losing weight mode. Lost 7 of the 13lbs gained in one month. I changed my eating style to go along with the eat 5-6 small meals a day. That didn't work for me. So, I'm back to myself in what worked for me before. Kept up my exercise and also started Swing Dance classes last month. My evenings are pretty much full now, giving why I haven't been on much. Also, trying to get into going to gym in the mornings to free up my evenings to do other things. My nurtitionist has started a personal training session at a discount of $35 per session. I've signed up for 4, that starts March 3.

I'll stop here. Don't want to lose your interest in what's going on with me.

Although we may not think of it as much but, whatever has been going on with you last month did in some way affect what you mananged to lose or gain. It's all how you perceive how it affected your goal to lose weight.

Let's hear from you. After all, we are each others ears, rather eyes. Thanks for being here.

Hi Marchies.

I hope with the anniversary some old names pop in. TammyJ, Denise, etc. Come on!

I completely agree with Juli.. I think its about time we hear from those bandsters!!!! We miss you ladies!!!!

So 11 days till my surgery!!!! Im getting more and more nervous each day it gets closer....

But anyways, i went to the gym yesterday and ended up staying there for 3hrs!!! I usually only go for an hour but i was for some odd reason having a good time...

But im a little sore now!!!!

Oh well, i managed to do 45min on the elliptical and probably could have done it longer but decided to do some other machines i have never tried before... like all the strength training machines!!!

Hi All, Juli and Jeni, as your surgery dates approach, I am almost as anxious you are. You two make me feel as if I'm there with you holding your hands. My prayers are with you both.

I started with the personal trainer in a group of four. I like this setting for I feel like a lot of pressure is not too much on me.

Hope to read good things from you.

ThANKS!!!!!! That is so sweet.......

Im literally counting down the days... 8 more days!!!:scared2::blush:

I have such mixed feelings... Im excited but scared at the same time...

But i also found out i have to have my band unfilled for the procedure... What are the odds of me convincing my band surgeon to refill me that following week?!?!?!?

So im going to be getting my belly button pierced next month after im almost back to normal.... I know this seem a little teenager thing.. but i wanted one at 16 (couldnt have it because of weight) and now i will be able to show it off... so i dont care what my mom says im doing it!!

Lol i know im rambling im going to stop now...

Just checking in.

I went in on Monday and got refilled and I am hoping that gets me motivated again. I haven't been doing what I should and since being unfilled I put on 5 lbs. I was shocked that it wasn't more like 20lbs. I have no energy right now and am tired all the time so my dr did a blood draw on Monday also to see if there is a problem.

When people ask me if I am still happy with my band (because I am not at my goal weight yet), I tell them "Hell Yeah!!" I know that my progress is slow, but I am my own worst enemy as I haven't stepped it up and put in more effort. I will get there, in my own time.

You three ladies look like you are doing GREAT!! I am proud of you, keep it up!!

Well, back to work.

Hi Welcome back. Sometimes we all have set backs where I am just recovering from one myself. Like you, I've come a long way from two years ago and know once I get back on track anything is possible.

Yeah, we have our set backs but we know them when we see them and sometimes am able to stop us in our own tracks.

Hey, sometimes those set backs are our best motivator to get us back in the groove. We learn from them, see the signs that set us off and try not to do the side them or work with them.

So, just keep checking in.

Hi All, nothing much to report. My step aerobics instructor will be taping one of our sessions. I missed the last taping but I'm on board for this one. I'm confident I'll be able to make him proud and keep up.

As for weight loss, slow this week. But I know I'll lose at least 10lbs this month. It won't put me at my goal but close enough. I'm closer to fitting my Whitepants the way I want. I now know they are not a size 16 nor may be a 14. So, my goal size is either 14 or 12. I thought size 16 would be ideal for me.

Well, how are you doing?

Hi All, just checking in. Jeni I thought about you today, being so close to your surgery date. Did you manage to lose those few pounds?

I have nothing new to report. Spent the weekend cooking up the meals for the week. The step aerobics class I'm taking is video taping a session. I'm confident I'll make my instructor proud by keeping up with the class.

Let's hear what going on in your world.

Hi Gwen,

I really thought there would be more anniversary action here on the March thread.

You could hear a pin drop!

My anniversary which was yesterday came and went on a pretty emotional day. Call it PMS, my grandmother is on the verge of passing away, my kid is on new medication, school is nearly out and my surgery is just weeks away. I've got a million things to think about. My anniversary for banding just didn't seem like something to jump for joy over.

Don't misunderstand, I love that I got the band. It has been the most life changing thing I've been through, short of becoming a mother. I couldn't be more thrilled with the results.

However, maybe like everyone else who isn't on here, life is so much more than the story of having my band.

Anyway, my Marchies I hope you are all doing well. I really do hope to hear from you.

Jeni, Good luck! You are in my thoughts.

And needless to say I am absolutely terrified about thurseday!!! Surgery Day!!!

I have never been more nervous about anything than this.. i got myself so worked up, that i have no appitite and have thrown up any food that i attempted to eat today!!!

Dont worry im keeping in my Fluid intake.. and drinking plenty of protien drinks to make up for not eating.. its just nerves and it will fix itself after surgery.. and plus i am getting unfilled for surgery on wednesday...

Jeni,

A 360 with a vertical incision, my arms and a revised breast lift, no implants.

Mine isn't until April 6th. You'll be well on the road to recovery at that point and can tell me all about yours.

You'll be alright. I know you're excited. I'm excited for you too!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
