My restriction is gone, where did it go, has anyone seen it??? I am in so desperate need of another fill, I have lost my restriction and my will power as well. My ps said I can't have another fill for another two months, so I hope I can stop this binging. I am totally amazed at the amount I can eat. Today for lunch I had a 6 in ham/cheese from subway, bread and all, I hadn't been able to eat bread in a long time. Then an hour ago, I ate a glazed donut, the whole thing. What is wrong with me. I just came back from spending a gazillion dollars on ps and enduring so much pain and have lost my focus. I think part of it is that I'm not totally feeling well and letting myself indulge. I am so exhausted all the time, its taking my body alot to get back to normal. The ps said it would take longer since my food intake is less than someone w/out a band, but hell he doesn't need to worry about that anymore cause I AM EATING LIKE A PIG--PLEASE HELP ME, HELP ME..Maybe I'm just stressed out this week, the girls started school and I've been running crazy w/ them to school and to cheerleading and tumbling and picking up from daycare and grocery and oh I'm going to die from exhaustion. I'm so tired..Then again maybe its cause I just had my period this week, who knows, maybe I'm just not right in the head... Well, had to vent.

STOP "EATING LIKE A PIG" and focus on your beautiful new and $$$expensive$$$ body! We're all waiting for the inspiration and everyone knows the best way to be inspired is to inspire.

Now SHOW US!!

Calm down, what's done is done. Its a good chance for you to really think about tackling those head issues. Have faith in yourself. Those stressful situations you describe are exactly when I eat too. But this is a great reminder for you that the band is just something to help you overcome these, it wont do all the work. You can and you must continue to think about eating inappropriately and too much.

How proud will you be if you last those two months to the next fill and still continue to lose? You can do it, just take a deep breath and move on from a couple of little mistakes. They dont matter!

Uhm, how is eating a sandwich like a normal person "out of control" and/or eating like a pig??? That is about what a normal person eats. Normal being someone your size.

You age a donut? OH MY GAWD! SEND IN THE MARINES!!!! TIME FOR AN INTERVENTION!!!!! (sirens going off in the distance, spot lights searting the night skies.... )

Calm down Estella! Has it occured to you that perhaps you body NEEDS extra nutrishion right now??? Extras nutrition means extra calories. Sure, not a gazillion calories, but have you looked at how many calories the subway sandwich has? Completely reasonable.

You didn't go out and eat a double pepperoini large pizza. You had a subway sandwich.

You ate ONE donut, not A DOZEN. Calm down, breathe. Here, use this paper bag because I'm afraid you are going to start hyperventilating. It's OKAY.

.....you mean donuts are even AVAILABLE as 'singles'????
roflmao!!

Can someone explain why if you have no restriction and are eating "normal" amounts of food, why you would have to wait for 2 months before they'd give you a fill? Is it because you just had one? Because I'd think if you did just have one and suddenly found yourself with no restriction that you'd wonder if they accidentally punctured the tubing and your saline leaked out.

((hugs)) hang in there and try to stay away from the refined flours & sugars for now -- that really helps me with my cravings.

ESTELA ESTELA!!!!

I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU, I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING FOR THE LAST 4 DAYS.

Ok here is what I am doing. I want a subway sandwich so bad I can taste it but I won't get one for the fear of getting stuck. But I have induldged in Arthur Treachers and yes then got stuck and I think that was from eating to fast.

Anyhow, I write down everything I have been eating since surgery. So when it turned into why too much food I began eating other low calorie filling foods. I have boiled eggs, oatmeal, some kind of fruit, Protein bars, and definately a Protein Drink sometimes 2 a day. I still stay away from bread because I know that is just major calories. I stay away from full fat ice cream, I get sugar free or low calorie. I also made a delicious, did I say delicious, pot of Soup. It is made with ground turkey and veggies but mostly cabbage. I think I will post the recipe in the food section. It has really been saving me.

Just remember you had to liquids before surgery and after surgery. Get back to some liquids, Jello, Water, popsicles, Protein shakes, gatorade, power ade, CRYSTAL LIGHT.

Whew, I needed that. This website is the BOMB!!!!

Estela- Hi girlie! Well one of the best things you did was write it down. Right!? So you feel you ate too much for a time. Well promise to get back up on that horse or even simply just exercise double what you usually do! Don't be so darn hard on your self. BUT do get back in the saddle & start again. You want this- you need this & you will do this!!! So take Charge girlfriend & tame that hungry with good stuff! You CAN DO IT!!

Aww Estela :)

First thing is, if you have any more donuts left in the house DITCH THEM (I'll be over in 10 minutes LOL jk)!! Try not to have stuff that you know is going to trigger you. And Vinesqueen is right on the money saying you are eating like the normal person that you are.

I understand your afraid of slipping back into bad habbits so do a clean sweep of the house and start a new. You CAN do this.

When (if) I get banded, the one thing I know I can NOT have in the house is Peanut Butter. I sware I can sit and eat an entire jar w/a spoon followed by a huge glass of milk. My DD will just have to have it at her G'ma's house b/c I crumble around it.

How are you doing today ???

Then again maybe its cause I just had my period this week, who knows

Okay, this part jumped out at me. I ALWAYS have a few days right before my period where my band is WIDE OPEN and damn, I can eat anything and everything and I WANT to eat everything. Okay, my period just passed, but right before it arrived, I ate two McDonald's cheeseburgers and a thing of fries. In one sitting. WITH MY BAND. Ugh. I SPUN OUT of control. But then a day or two passed and I was back on track. Aunt Flo arrived and everything evened out.

So IMHO, your venting is actually a good sign. You recognize that you have skidded off the road but this is "rock bottom" so to speak, so now, navigate back onto the highway girl. You know how to get here!

And tell your food demons to get back in the cage for another month!!!! (Jack calls his "the dragon"....use whatever visual works for you!!)

Estela,

Give yourself a little elbow room. You've done fanstastic so far, and you will continue to do so. You probably DO need the extra nutrition right now, and what you ate wasn't all that bad. Subway is a great healthy lunch, and one donut (in how long???) isn't going to hurt you. Riddle me this; what would your Subway sandwich and your donut have been preband?!?! I'd have had a footlong with all the fatty Condiments, a bag of chips, a huge drink, and probably 2 donuts (at least). Whenever I "do bad" I think back to preband and say "okay, so this wasn't so hot, but it wasn't THAT bad".

NJChick; Don't worry about the Peanut Butter. A tablespoon or two of that will sit in your stomach for a good long while. I highly doubt you'll be able to eat much of it when you are restricted :). In fact, 1 serving of Peanut Butter makes a good snack. :)

Breating in paper bag................

Thank you so much, I really needed this. You are totally right, my husband told me last night that he thinks I should be taking in a little more calories to help my body recover from all the trauma I caused it (well, minus the donut) and that he hasn't noticed that I am overeating like I think I am. So I guess you guys are right, I ate a sensible dinner last night, Protein, Protein and veggies, so I did good last night. Then I rewarded myself and fixed myself a margarita and that made my day all better. he, heee..

Thanks all of you for all the encouragement, and I promise I'll get those pic taken this weekend. So that you can see how fabulouso I look....

/e falls over laughing. Okay, you are completely freaked out about a donut, but a margarita makes the day better????

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that a shot or two of tequillia will fix just about anything... Except maybe a toaster. Pretty sure it wouldn't fix a toaster... May have to do some research...

I just love you, you are so great, you sure know how to put a smile on my face. Well since I was down in Mx getting all that ps, I brought back some tequila. Hadn't had any until last night and boy it was good. And I won't be eating any more donuts, don't have another board meeting until next month, but I'm not bringing the left overs back to the office, they are going straight to the trash.

Thanks and I can't wait to go home and fix me another margarita. Today, has been kind of stressful too, my little boy had to go see the ear, nose and throat specialist cause his voice is very hoarse for a three year old and next week on Thursday he'll have to go into the hospital and get put to sleep so they can do a laryngoscopy and a bronchoscopy of his throat to see if he has polyps or nodules. I hope everything goes well, I hate for him to be put under for anything. Please keep him in your prayers. He's so little, my little baby boy.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
