Who started with a weight over 300 pounds?

Recommended Posts

I haven't been banded yet, my sceduled date is Feb 11 (only 3 days away woo hoo!) but I am wondering who started over 300 pounds and have you hit the 100's yet? How long did it take? I started my pre op liquid diet at 329, I went it for a check up 1 week in and was down to 320. I hope to be at 315 on Wednesday. Just looking for some inspiring stories because at this point even 199 looks so far away.

July '08 I was 326... After making some changes I was down to 315 on my surgery date. I'm now at 287.

It's only been like 7 weeks but I've been doing MOST of what I'm supposed to, the bigest change be exercising CONSISTENTLY. good luck!

I was banded two months ago Tuesday on December 10th. The day of surgery I was 293. This morning the scale registered 263! WOOOOHOOO! 30 pounds down! Sorry to brag! Yea for me! You can do it, too. I follow the rules closely. I follow the rules outlined for me by my surgeon and follow the bandster rules most of the time. Though, I will admit to cheating occationally. Eating too much on one or two occations, but I quickly learned. I make sure I walk at least 10,000 steps a day. Additionally, I stay as busy as active as possible. I also started lifting weights two weeks ago.

Best of luck during your surgery and for speedy weight recovery and weight loss.

I started my journey at 375 on Feb. 9th, 2008 (date I started liquid diet). On Feb. 7th, 2009 I was down to 215. It has been incredible.

I was right at 300lbs when I went for my first consultation. (gosh, i think thats the first time i've admitted that). I can't even think about the 100's yet. I know I'll get there, and you will too. But I try to focus on smaller goals, like 10lbs at a time. If I think about how long it'll take me to get to my ultimate goal of 175lbs, I'll be depressed every time I get on the scale. lol. I've lost 33lbs, I just get excited everytime I go down a number, from the 290's to 280's, now I'm in the 260's! yay!

Good luck with your surgery!!

I weighed 315 when I decided to have the lapband and was at 295 the day of surgery. I had surgery 9/30/2008 and I am down to 260 now. It has been amazing how much difference this has made and I am excited to keep going. My family has noticed the difference and I just threw away my first set of "big" pants. Having family support is a tremendous help.

When I got on the scale and it said 295, I knew I was in trouble. I am sure I touched 300 at some point, and since I never got on the scale much, I wouldn't know when. I am down to 258 since banded 12/23/08, and feeling great.

I was 316 on surgery date October 20,2008. I got my second fill last Tuesday and I am now down to 276. It is a wonderful tool and I am glad I had it done. Keep positive any everything is possible. 199 feels far away for me to but I know I will get there with the help of my band.

I started my process for surgical clearance in June 2008; weighing 337. During the 6 month process I gained and my highest was 342; I admit I was on a final tour of my fave foods. I had surgery 2/3/09 and day of weighed in at 335. My first weigh in and post op app't is 2/11/09. My goal is to be at 280 by June.

Good luck with your surgery!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
