Wildfire

I will have to fly very soon due to a family emergency . Did you have any complications with the cabin pressure? Did you ask to "pre board"? I will have about a 3 hour flight each way,

Hi Madison,

I didn't have a problem but I did keep myself hydrated. Only drinking Water or having some Protein. Both my flights were over 3 hours. Just wear comfortable clothes and ensure you have something to drink with a bit of Protein as you will need some to keep up your energy.

I hope things work out well.

How are you doing otherwise?

I am doing just fine. Feeling good and not in much pain at all, except for that annoying shoulder pain. I have my frist post op visit tomarrow and then back to work on Thursday. I am pretty much back to "normal". How are you feeling?

Its good to hear everyone is feeling better. I'm having minimal pain mostly at port site and under left ribs but I just feel sooooooooooo tired all the time. I'm following the diet well but having no appetite at all makes that easy to do. I think I've drunk more Water in the last few weeks than I have in the past 2 years. I'm not sure I can keep up with 64 oz of fluids daily forever...

Hi Madison. I had lap-band surgery on Feb. 25th. I live in Buffalo Grove. I wonder how you are doing? I am doing fair. It was a bit rougher than I expected but I am back at work now for half-days. I still have a lot of left shoulder pain (from the gas, I guess). Since we live close to each other, and have had surgery within 2 days of each other, I wanted to send you a note. You can e-mail me at cjgriffith1@yahoo.com if you would like to talk further. Carlene

Hi everyone,

I was also banded on February 23, 2009. I am doing great. I had my first fill 4/27/09 I have 5cc in my 10cc band. I have lost 26 pounds. I can basically tolerate everything. But I know that can be both a plus and a minus. My biggest challenge is drinking enough fluids and Constipation due to the high Protein diet. I am maintaining my BP my BP meds have been on hold since 2/23/09. I do exercise 3-4x/week however the past 2 weeks have really been a challenge. I have had a hard time trying to find where Feb 2009 bandsters are posting. I have created a group link which might be more convenient for us."Fantastic February 2009 Bandsters"

Good Luck eveyone. We are doing great!!!

I haven't had a fill yet, they had to do an unfill that was put in during the surgery. Couldn't eat or drink enough. Eating and drinking now trying to exercise but have a lot of pain at port site (Dr. says thinks it's nerve pain) I see him next week, but will probably not have a fill, I'm still losing 40lbs since surgery. Where is your link? I will log on to that next time. You are doing great, keep up the good work!!

Good Afternoon! My surgery was 2/25. As of today (5/4), I am down 36.5 pounds. I also had trouble eating and drinking enough for awhile, but I am doing much better now. The last few weeks, I have been losing 1-1/2 to 2 pounds a week which I understand is about right. I am going in for a dr. visit on Wednesday 5/6 for a possible fill (that would be the first). I don't know if I'm ready for a fill or not yet. But perhaps, as I am certainly eating larger quantities and more types of foods now. However, I dread feeling all urpy and chest pain again. Eating was a real burden for awhile there but I guess that is the trade off. Carlene

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
