I am on the 16th too ! Good luck - I am still so excited I cant stand it. After fighting with Tricare for a year - I am afraid to go on the protien diet - just incase they change their mind. I think I have gained 5 pounds after I got approved.

It's really a shame what the insurance companies make us to through. Good luck on the 16th.

My surgery time is 12:15 what about yours?

Got my approval earlier then expected.. I'm a March 3rd Bandster.. woo hoo

Still processing that it is real and happening, lots of things to get done in 19 days.. at home and in my office.. I'm a one girl show at the moment and can't really afford to hire someone so I need to close for 2 days, then go in.. Its mostly phone work and its in my dads house so I can sit in a rocker with my feet up if I need to and even lay down should I need to.. My dad is worried about complications because hes 86 and I care for him while I'm at work in his home office.. My siblings are just going to have to step it up a notch (or 50!)for a few weeks.. My daughter will help when she gets home from school too,, I will owe the kids big time,, a trip to Washington when I'm better will be fun!

No anxiety yet,, anyone else? Need to make a list of things to accomplish between now and then so I can organize my brain!

Best wishes to all, and a speedy healthy recovery,, can't wait to hear your stories on the flip side!~

I don't know the time yet - I go in for my pre op on thursday, 19 Feb. I will have to spend the night in Tucson on the 15 of Mar - we live about 2 hours away. I am hoping for an early time - just so I don't miss my coffee so much! I hope I am one of those people who do well after surgery - I am a teacher and I having surgery the first day of my spring break - so I will have a whole week to get use to the band and get back on my feet.

Why is you surgery so late in the day?

The doctors office took care of everything. I was shocked when they told me that I would get a response from the insurance within a week. All I have to do is pay my deductible and go and get blood work in two weeks.

Well, I went to the dr's office today and they advised that I would need a 6 mos supervised diet. Which obviously means, I would be past the date my current insurance which covers it would run out. My previous diet wasn't documented monthly, so if I wanted this done, I have to be a self pay. They charge 17,500.00 and clearly I'm not going to pay that much. Instead, I left without even seeing the Dr, called the OCC and scheduled a surgery date of March 9th as a self pay. I'm disappointed but sick and tired of waiting! Tickets to SanDiego are only 240.00 round trip! So - no more waiting, life starts now! :frown:

So, I'm definitely going to be a luuuuuuky Loooosaaaa! woo hoo!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
