I was banded on the 10th. everything went good i guess. Apparently I had a hard tome with nausea when I woke up, but don't remember any recovery room stuff. I barely passed the swallow test, I got the stuff down just fine but it took forever to have it go down, I had to be in X-ray for two hours.

I'm finally home, and I'm pretty uncomfortable, but I'm hoping that it will subside with in the next few days.

Got banded in Albany NY on 2/9

gas and bruising (and cathater pain) are my only complaints.

Advice is to get back on your regular meds ASA you can - esp diuretics.

2/12 - my weight is below its pre-op low

Starting to need food now

Looking to stave off dehydration and fatigue.

Onward!

I'm booked in for 27th Feb. Very excited and even more nervous - started training and the pre op diet a week early because of excitement. Planning my epitaph because of the nerves! Perhaps I should occupy my mind with other things...tum de dum....

I was banded February 10th. It was a piece of cake, if you don't count the fact that when I got to the hospital I found out my surgeon had ordered a CT scan because of a "small nodule" on my chest, which, thank goodness, turned out to be nothing.

The gas pain is manageable, and I find it really helps to drink lots of liquids, and walk, walk, walk. I'm glad to be home.

Congratulations to all February bandsters who have had surgery, and the best of luck to those of you who will be joining us! Speedy recoveries to us all!

Debbie

Hi thin2win, I know it's only early days yet, but how are you going? I've not been banded yet and was just wondering what discomfort you're having if any?

Hi. Not sure if this has been answered yet, but this is the shopping list my Dr. gave me (I was banded on 2-5).

-Measuring cups and spoons

-Artificial sweetner

-Crystal Lite (any flavor)

-Instant hot cereals (cream of wheat, cream of rice, or cocoa wheats) NOT oatmeal

-Applesauce

-Smooth yogurt (no sugar added, no fruit chunks)

-Sugar free popsicles

-Fruit juice pops

-Sugar free Jello

-Custard (no sugar added)

-100% fruit juices (apple, orange, grape, fruit punch, pomegranite, etc)

-V-8 juice (NOT V-8 splash)

-Skim or 1% milk

-Cream Soups (Cream of Tomato, chicken, mushroom. (Must be chunk free)

-Broth, Bouillon, Consomme

-Multivitamins (any brand children's COMPLETE) chewable.< /p>

Hope this helps!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
