Hi Everyone!

I"m a January 19th bandster as well!

Glad to see others!

I'm getting banded at Hurley in Flint, MI. Wife actually follows 3 weeks later. So we're rocking!

2 week pre-op liquid diet is going good. My craving of real food is subsiding day by day. What can I say? We all know it sucks...especially the first 2-3 days! hahaha.

BUT, it is worth it! I stepped on the scale this morning and was down 17 pounds since the 5th...so I'm overjoyed.

Goodluck to everyone! Can't wait to see what everyone has to say after surgery!

Our date is approaching fast... I am so scared of the surgery itself. Nothing else scares me, just the actual surgery. Going under is VERY scary to me. Knowing there are others going through the same exact thing on the same day is very comforting.

I can't wait til we are all talking about our experiences and reaping our rewards!

I will be on here until surgery and right after (as long as I feel good).

Welcome AK27... do you have the week off?

I'm off atleast 2 weeks...depending on my post-op appt with surgeon. Luckily my work is real easy going with sick leave and I have up to 6 weeks if I want it.

So I will have plenty of time to post updates!!!

Well I'm glad to hear your pre- op diet is getting easier. I start what I affectionately call "starvation mode" tomorrow. I think I'm just going to have to keep busy this weekend so I don't think about food.

My doctor's office called today and apparently my labs came back showing I had a UTI so now I have to take some antibiotics before the surgery. Luckily, my surgeon gave me all my scripts before hand so I can take something for nausea if the meds make me sick (no food and antibiotics= yuck).

I'm a little nervous about going under too. The only surgery I've ever had is a c-section so we'll see how this compares. My doc says it's a cake walk compared a to c-section. I hope that's true:tongue2:

I am staying the night as well since I have a 3 hour drive home, doc wanted me to stay. However is an outpatient facility, so, I believe I will be out in 23 hours. I have the whole week off too to relax. I'm hoping to do a lot of reading, posting and chating on here for questions and support...

you are TOO lucky with your preop diet... mine is horrible but, right now I'm numb to it and finally on the downside of the preop....

our day is fast approaching

Hey 19th Bandsters! It's getting close! I too must stay overnight due to insurance requirements but I am hoping to rest.....so my 4 yo cannot jump on my tummy either! The 2 week preopt diets is getting really old! It seems docs have such different ideas about how much weight you need to shrink the liver??? whether you all 200 or 100 to lose they say 2 weeks.....makes you wonder!

I'm with you HALO, I'm just worried about the possibility of losing the weight AGAIN and then gaining it back AGAIN! Even Oprah can't keep it off and she's a gujillionaire! I just hope they don't say we have to drink shakes our whole life! Nice to hear from all of you!

I agree on Oprah... I wonder if she has ever considered the band. I always watch her show and no matter what, it's always the same with her... (how to do it). How many more times is she going to put herself through this?

Me, no more!! I've had it!! This is IT!!

I think Oprah is so scared of anything having to do with a Medical procedure she hasnt considered it. She just go her ears pierced! I too am ready to be rid of this extra weight baggage for the last time! I just wonder long term how hard it will be to keep it off and if we will always be on a "diet"? I think I could handle shakes during the day cause I am to busy to stop and eat anyway and that's why I chose fast food which caused alot of why I am the way I am now and then have a nice dinner? I did go out with my DH last night and had a small steak..........I know I should not have but I thought it would be my "Last" meal for a long time.....anyone else did this?

I'm definitely scared too. I am especially scared of feeling nauseated when I wake up from surgery. I know they will give me medicine for it, but I still am worried about it. If I wake up and do not feel sick, I will be the happiest person alive!

NurseMelly- I too remember my csection and it was NOT fun, however I'm sure this will be a walk in the park compared to that. Just take your "nap" and open your eyes and you'll be good! Congrats to you, I will keep all our 1/19 bandsters in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow!!! I am officially SCARED now...

Halo-don't be scared! It will all work out. Think of how HOT you will look come summer! LOL Hope that helps ease some of the nerves. I am one day behind you guys...1/20 so I'll be looking forward to ya'lls posts on how you are doing.

Take care 1/19 bandsters!! Best of luck!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
