What brand of Vitamins are you guys buying? I just had surgery and know my nutritionist suggested Nature Made after I heal but man these suckers look huge. Before the surgery, they also seemed to upset my stomach if taken when I hadn't eaten anything. I'd like to get a high potency multi Vitamin, is there a good chewable vitamin out there for adults that will give us everything we need and then some? Chewable or not I want the best vitamin I can get that will be easy to swallow and digest.

Any suggestions?

I take the adult chewable vitamins made by Walgreens, High Potency A thru Z. I believe they're the store brand of Centrum's. I also take two sugar-free Tums for added Calcium.< /span>

For daily Vitamins I am currently taking Centrum chewables (they are a little chalky tasting though) when this bottle is gone I will probably go back to 2 Flintstone Vitamins a day because they are easier for me to handle (they are childrens vitamins but 2 of these gives you more than the RDA...they were on my doctors approval list. The bottle says one a day for adults but I take two just to be sure I am getting enough of everything)

For Calcium I take the Viactive chews (caramel is so yummy, it is like a daily treat. chocolate is good too...tastes almost like tootsy rolls). I have also taken Caltrate plus D, quality is just as good...they are berrry flavor and pretty tasty too.

Hey, My doctor told me to get something that is close to Centrum. I then went to my supplement store and ask for that. They are Cherry flavor.

I was having a problem with hair loss and hating the liquid Vitamins that were recommended. So, about 4 months after surgery, I found a product called JuicePlus and I love it. It is described as:

juice Plus+ provides the nutrition from 17 different fruits, vegetables, and grains in convenient and inexpensive capsule form. juice Plus+ Orchard Blend contains seven of the most nutritious fruits around:
,
,
,
,
,
, and
. Juice Plus+ Garden Blend contains ten nutrient-dense vegetables and grains:
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
, and
and
.

I was feeling like I wasnt getting enough fruits and veggies anyway so these are great. They are in capsule form but since they are ALL NATURAL - NO Fillers, when I was particularly tight from a fill I could open the capsule and sprinkle in a smoothy or in Soup. They really changed my life. My DH (Type 1 diabetic) and my son are both using the product and I am no longer losing my hair - plus my skin looks great too. In addition, the Fiber in each capsule - if taken with a full glass of Water - keep me full. I am so into it that I am now a distributor of the product. So, if you have questions PM me....

btw, I am working with my Surgeons office right now - this has such a good reputation from the medical community (including bariatric physicans) that he may begin recommending it to his patients, pre and post op.

So what is the nutritional info on this? Does it meet all the RDA requirements or do you have to take a ton? Like others, I'm doing the chewables. The biggest problem for me is the Calcium. All the chewables I've seen are calcium carbonate and my doctor wants me on calcium citrate. If I take the Citracal mini, I have to take like 6. The regular are so huge that, even cut in half, I have a really hard time.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
