Is it normal I can eat this?

Recommended Posts

I'm on solid foods now. Here's what I ate today:

B: Unjury vanilla Protein Shake

L: Smart Ones 180 calorie thingie

S: 1/2 an Isopure Protein Drink

D: 5oz filet mignon with an onion. <--------

The filet mignon went down fine. I'm not uncomfortably full. Nothing got stuck. It would have fit on the little plate my doctor told me about but it was 5oz. I figured I would be full before I finished but nope.

Is this bad? Normal? I'm getting a fill in 2 weeks so I'm hoping it will help restrict food a bit. For now though i feel guilty I ate that for dinner. But I am hungry *all* the time now. I'm not drinking with meals or any of that. The smart ones dinners don't fill me up at all either.

How are you all doing?

I don't know if its normal or not, but I can eat a boneless thick cut pork chop. I haven't gotten a fill yet, so I'm hoping for more restriction. I chew the meat really well, but haven't had a problem with most things. I get my fill on the 19th and I can't wait!

I have had London Broil also. I had it just a couple of days ago and had no problems with it going done other then I had to make sure it was chewed up very well. Any and all meat I have I make sure is chewed up very well. I did have chicken the other night that I got one bite stuck for about 5 minutes (very painful) because I didn't chew it enough. It's my understanding that this will be much more difficult after we start getting fills.

I have been on soilds for about a week now and that's pretty normal. The only thing I have had a problem with is bread. Beware though when you start the soilds you might gain weight.

I was banded on 12/11 and today (for the first time since surgery) I was able to eat 1 1/2 tuna salad sandwiches on ww bread... and I had to stop myself from finishing that second one :( I know I haven't had any fills yet and have no restriction, but it still got to me since I have been eating a lot less since my surgery. Well, just thought I'd share, and thank God I'm going in for my first fill on 12/23:thumbup:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
