Thanks for the links, guys!

Even though I don't watch the show and hate it, I can't stop reading about it or talking about it. :)

Oh and I think of my surgery as the thing that's going to help me maintain too. I feel like I lost the weight due to my own actions -- what I put in my mouth and moving my body -- but I'll keep it off because this time I'm not starving.

I can't stand the WLS bashing (maybe I am just being hypersensitive) It's really up to the person how they want it to work for them.

Weight in is good,. lots of drama.

I agree, tonight's latest attack on WLS drove me a little nuts.

I'm so mad about what happened this week! Ron should have went home, and he got SO MAD when Felipe voted for him! Come on, you have knee problems, now more health problems, and you STILL think you have a chance?

I feel really bad for Nicole, it's so bizarre that she gained so much weight her first week back. I missed the part where Alison took away her immunity, can someone tell me why? Was it because she gained weight instead of lost?

I did feel for Tara though, someone just comes back onto the ranch in 2nd place after she's worked so hard defending herself and staying in 1st.

Crazy crazy week!

Ali told her she'd have immunity this week but nothing we saw mentioned she could loose it untill Allison said unless you gained weight (at the weigh in) this kind of stood out for me...when the scales went up I wasn't as surprised...Usually out of the way comments like that are for a reason. I just wish that stipulation had been aired when she was given immunity. I've never known it to exist before.

I so agree Ron should have been out of there. Yes I saw Nicole as a threat but Ron turned on the Fillipe last week yet was mad this week. Kristin wimped, she was mad at Ron as well and knows hes just trying to keep Mikey there.

Grrrr can't stand Ron or Kristin

Well said Size 6!

Tonight's show was weird, boring and irritating. WTH did they miss the chance to get rid of that freakin' train wreck masquerading as a "caring" Dad? Argh!

You know what really gets me is they made WLS sound so bad......I know there are some it doesn't work for but I'd say that there are a lot more that TBL way doesn't work for and the constant dieting only to put it back on doesn't work so well either. Theres human factors as well as medical but they made it sound like its a bad thing PERIOD

i love the show!! i felt bad for nicole, but come on if a group of people are gonna vote someone off, its gonna be the one they care least about, and who is more of a threat. human nature guys and gals!! everyone knows ron has no chance in hell of winning, and because of his health issues its probably the best place for him. i think when the show is over ron still should be at thr ranch with the doctor until he reaches his goal weight hee hee. he'll still be there the next season... we'll see him walking in the background hahaha.

You know, I'm not too surprised. I joined WW after doing low carb for so long and my first week joining WW I gained 4 lbs. I followed it to a T, and exercised 6 days and gained. The lady told me that it was not unusual for someone to gain the first week they switch up their routine, or eating pattern, or even exercise pattern. I was shocked that i had gained when I worked so hard. I wish Nicole would have stayed and Ron was sent home, he has had his chance, over and over and over.....

Yeah, but (having just finished watching it after taping it tonight) I'm actually surprised so many in the "group" voted for Ron! That was a good step, in my opinion, but not good enough. I really REALLY can't stand the man. The nasty looks he leveled at those who voted for him were vile. He never should have been accepted, never should have made it this far, and should NEVER be saying whose time it is to leave. Never.

When Bob and Jillian hug and say goodbye to their team members before they have to go and do the elimination room, I think they are both whispering or advising their team on what to do on who to eliminate. I think Jillian for sure reminded them that Nicole was a threat to them and this was their chance to get her off. Also, that I didn't hear them say to Nicole that if she gained she could lose immunity but I think this might be the show finally stopping the game playing where someone has immunity and drinks a bunch of Water right before a weigh in that week so that the following week, they have an even bigger loss. Hurray for the show if they are finally nailing those who are manipulating the scale with a water gain if that is what happened.

i did feel bad for Nicole! But damn she lost alot of weight on her own at home!

Did anyone catch it when Ron said that everyone thinks he is the one running things, but he is not! Yeah Right! Dude you have been malipulating everyone for the first 13 weeks!

You need to go! Mike will be ok! Look at how well he is doing! You need to go home and help your other son!

Kristin please shut up! You agree with the cousins that Ron was not part of the "alliance" anymore yet you did not stick with the "alliance" to vote him off! What is up with that?

Hmmm..maybe you are a bit two faced !

Oh yeah and who the hell is Helen kidding about friendship!

Uh, Nicole hasn't been there for weeks yet you act like she is you best bud! Please!

Ok, done ranting about it now!

No, no, I had a problem with it as well. I'm getting tired of the whole slant with WLS. They are trying to make it out that every form is bad for you. Yet, they never mention anything about how many of the past contestants are gaining alot of the weight back.

Not going to go back and search, but in regards to the shirts, they have been doing this since season 1. Once the loose skin gets too bad on most of the contestants, they have the women wear the compression tanks and the men don't take off their shirts anymore. IMO, they don't want you to question when they show up for the finale and most don't have alot of skin hanging everywhere. I think they "encourage" them to have PS to look better while at home.

Although I agree that Ron should of been sent home a long time ago, if I had been a contestant this week, I would of voted off Nicole too. She is a threat and Ron isn't.

I love Tivo. That whole show only took 20 minutes to watch

No real surprise here. Once Nicole lost immunity, there really wasn't any questions about who was going home. It simply had to be the 'new' person on campus who was already showing some hint of abs. Tara may have dodged a bullet there, but now she knows there's some serious competition outside the house.

I think the 'doctor' on TBL is the worst kind of whore. He's obviously willing to say whatever the producers want him to say. I agree with previous posters about the WLS bashing; to blame Ron's current medical problems on that procedure is ridiculous.

As an aside, I feel sorry for the other members of the South Lyon, MI city council that have to work with this guy on a regular basis. He is a hostile, manipulative bastage that probably has wet dreams about being Tony Soprano.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
