It's amazing how a meal can sound like a lot but then you look at the actual portions and it's not much. LOL I am a stickler for measuring everything out.

The Salmon was better the night before when it was fresh. But nuked it was a little dry and we all know how dry food is. The first bite got stuck and took a couple of minutes to pass before I could finish my lunch. I made sure that eating the rest to chew it extra long.

As far as "lettuce" goes it's hard to break down when you chew it. That's why the surgeons recommend to not have salad. I have a feeling tho that if you had lettuce that was finely shredded and chopped up into smaller piece like what you get in a Taco Bell Taco salad that it would be ok. But I am only guessing on that. Haven't tried that yet. I know that at the local Winn-Dixie grocery store down here we can buy bags of shredded lettuce like that so I am tempted to try it but we will see.

Really all in all food is going to very from person to person and what you can eat before a fill and after a fill can be and will be two different things.

.

I have a 14 cc band w no fill. The only time I ever feel a restriction at this point is on scrambled eggs or if I swallow too big of a bite. I allways try to take small bites and chew chew chew.

Today so far:

B: 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese, 3 bites of sausage

S: coffee with nonfat milk and splenda

L: 4 pieces of turkey and 4 pieces of cheese rolled up and dipped in grey poupon

I went on solid foods yesterday so I'm not really sure what I should be eating yet. I haven't gotten anything stuck or been uncomfortable at all eating. I don't have a fill in yet. I get one in 2 weeks but I don't really think I feel restriction? I haven't eaten until I was hurting anyway so I don't really know. I eat about 1/2 to 1 cup of food a meal.. sometimes a little less.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
