Heya Red,

Well the great thing is that you did lose those two pounds that you had gained and then the best thing is that you really did not gain anything. A loss is always great but even better is not going back up. Knowing that you have lost the weight and kept it off. That is the real challenge for all of us.

This is a very mixed emotions week for me. Since the middle of October I have been on a continuous decline in weight until now. This week I gained 5 pounds. I know I made some bad food choices but I have also gone off medications too because I don't need them anymore. One of the medications I have been on for 2 solid years has been a heavy Water pill so I know that some of the 5 pounds gain is water weight but can water weight be a full 5 pounds. Maybe 2 or 3 but I don't think 5. So any way not a good week for me.

ang in there pete yes the Water pill will do that to u as when i gained it was due to the water pills and the birth control pills now that im not taken either i gained some but, then i guess every thing balanced out. we are here for you. so yes i know how you feel as i was ready to give myself a fill as i felt so let down.:yikes: this week is a much better wk. and just think you get a fill next week. i still have to wait till the end of febuary. i still might need to give myself a fill:smile:

and v-queen i couldn't have said it better

Hey Pete, you betcha Water weight can add five pounds. I can do that just be eating something salty, like pretzels or pizza. the next day I've gained a guaranteed 2 to 3 lbs. You've been doing great and with all the exercise you've been getting a couple of poor food choices aren't going to be a permanent setback. For me, the ability to occasionally eat something not so healthy, was a big part of my decision to get banded. I don't want to be told I can never eat a certain food again. Everything in moderation, right? So keep up the exercising, make 98% of the right food choices and keep on getting healthy!:yikes:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
