Did anyone have to do the sugar busters diet pre-op?

My Dr. put me on the sugar buster diet. I was wondering did anyone have to do this? What types of food did you eat? I know the list says lean meats veggies and fruit. Are you able to eat sugar free foods like sugar free jell-o and pudding? or even sugar free cookies,lol
