I am dealing wiht a band slip right now. I was banded May 08 and had alittle slip November which fixed itself but now may need it replaced. i am concerned about the money this time since I have $4500 out of pocket. I had that saved then but now have nothing saved. I don't know what to expect.I am down 78 pounds and don't want to just have it removed either.

My band has slipped massively since I was assaulted at work and had lots of tummy trauma. It is now in danger of slipping further down and causing complications. I am having my rebanding done Wed 25th March at 1pm. Im so nervous and really angry

Good luck Ky March 25. I am having my band replaced March 24. I am very nervous since all the people on this website that say the 2nd time is much worse. I hope it is the same or better cause I had alot of back pain. I am not sure if I will have to pay my $4500 out of pocket again. My doctor in my home town that has been doing all my fills said to wait see what the surgeon and hospital were I have to have it done sends for a bill since he has had many slips at his practice. If I coudl have had it fixed someplace else I wopudl have but no other surgeons want someone elses problems. I hope this does not cost me anout out of pocket!!! Good luck with your surgery and let keep our heads up!!!! If you want to email me at home you can reach me at :)

ckcbc55555@bevcomm.net Thanks, Karen

OMG...I'm so sorry to hear about that! For me the rebanding was ALOT more intense than the initial banding. I found that easy breazy! The re-banding, I had massive gas and gas pains, more new scares, changed the port location from sterum to the middle of tummy...and of course the clear fluids for a week, full fuids for 2 weeks and mush for 2 weeks really really SUCKED during Christmas! Good Luck Sweetie. I can see how you'd feel frustrated and pissed off. I don't blame you.

I had my band slip and had replacement surgery on 3/17. The second time around did seem worse for me but I think it was because I was not mentally prepared for it. The position of the port is uncomfortable for me right now but I am hoping the when the swelling goes down it wont bother me as much. I was really afraid I was going to loose my band so I am very thankful that I still have a band and I am willing to put up with the extra pain for the second time around :crying:

Well I am almost 2 weeks out and I am feeling great! I can honestly say that I am feeling 100% and loving it. I really think that because I knew what to exspect, I am doing much better alot quicker than the first time. The first time around I did not go back to work for two weeks and I pretty much stayed around my house. This time I went back to work two days later and just pretty much got back to normal life and I think it took my mind off the pain and my body healed alot quicker.

I am so happy I still have my band and I am going to to take great care to make sure I do everything right and maximize all the benefits of having a band! I am feeling so good about this new start!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
