Believe me i KNOW your pain!!! All i own is 3 pairs of pants (1 new one thanks to candra:) ) 1 nice fancy shirt (thanks to candra) and 3 tank tops (walmart) 2 pairs of shorts( walmart) I dont have ANYTHING from the exchanges... people lneed to get into 8s and 6s so they can pass on their 10s and 12s to us lol.

Mini-rant this morning: I am supposed to go out after work with the boss and one of the Supervisors' Aides, so I am looking through my closet trying to find something cute to wear to work today that I can also go out after in - you know, good clothes but not a suit dress. Well there isn't much left hanging in my closet, but I pulled out what few things I still have and - NOTHING!!! Nothing fits; stuff I was wearing a month ago is baggy and ugly now. I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!! I mean, I have jeans and casual clothes and all, I get that kind of stuff from the clothing exchange (although nothing smaller than a 14, which is what I need now), but ZIPPO in the way of professional-looking clothes. So I am wearing pants with an adjustable waist (butt is baggy, but they stay up!) and a blouse that absolutely hangs off of me. How lame is that . . . .

. . . but how nice to have this problem! Good morning ladies :-)

HEather, if he does change her loss id call and ask for a change of surgeons..........

Marie: she explained it very well.. how i think of pb though, because i dont have to burp at all its just there..its like at first a pain.. that wont go away.. you know if u drink it will be worse so you pray it goes down.. but then it gets harder, and you feel like you havea ball in your throat (you do) finally you give up on the wiaitng game go to the ladies room and you can cough or whatever and the food that was lodged in the spot comes out. For me no bupring occurs it is just a cough.

Dont worry abou tit, you can ask all the girls befor emy last 1cc i had NO ISSUES! I could eat a house and everything i wanted. I lost better... Now im making foods softer (cals) on the days i have issues... But whats sad is ill have 1 bad day to 5 good.. and the good are when i can eat a house lol.

Mornin' Ladies!

I was going through my closet just now, trying to find some "weight check clothes" you know... super light clothes! Well, I started digging in the back of my closet where all the super-cute, smaller stuff lives. I pulled out a dress my mom bought me years ago. It's a vintage 40's style shirt-dress. It's brown with tiny pink polka dots and has a collar and it never fit me. When I got it for a friend's wedding I couldn't zip it up. It had been on sale so I kept it. Well ladie, I'm wearing it now! I'm thinking of wearing it to my weight check since it's so light! I love shopping for new clothes in my own closet! It's already paid for and I already like it!

Morning ladies!! Off to work really busy day today.

I am down another pound this morning and I had that darn ice cream yesterday. Fat free ice vanilla milk or something like tht but still ya know I should not have done it. I was just so done with trying to eat another meal yesterday after lunch. Gonna do better today but I bet I got the higher calories yesterday helped out!! I always do better a little higher.

For me when I PB I usually get that pain that nicole is talking about and I try to wait for it to go down so I get thee calories in. But at some point you know it won't stay down and you give up. IF I get the hiccups I know it is over. It doesn't hurt and it just sorta comes back up.............but it makes me gag when I do that cause it is a gross thing to do and that usually makes everything come up. I was reading yesterday about a soft stop. Old time bandsters were telling me that you need to figure out your soft stop like, brain freeze, hiccups, headache, nose running.........they gives you the stop quick signal. Thinking about that today and gonna try to figure out if I have a soft stop!!

But 6 pounds down now in two weeks. I hope this keeps up. THe more I lose the more the band loosens on its own and than I won't need an unfill.

Have a great day ladies........

Aw, thanks Riley. Now, about your rant - I'm feeling you! every pair of jeans I pull out my husband hates now - said they give me diaper butt. With the exception of the ones I still can't fit into.

My fedex man just tried to pick up on me! Is he kidding - LOL - when I come to work it's with zero make up, flip flops & sweats or jeans & t-shirt - Nobody comes in my office so it's totally casual - I look like crap - so seriously, is he kidding?

Tamra - you will be a 16 before you know it! Last may i was wearing 20's! I still drink coffee and lose - So does Riley Jane! So, Tamra - I'm going to pack up a pair of my seven jeans and give them to you asap - I find when I have a pair of jeans that i'm dying to get into - I work harder for it! Can you have people stop by your job? I can drop them to you monday - I'll be just on the other side of the Richmond bridge so when I'm passing thru the Rich on my way home I can pop in - or send them to you if you want to PM me your address - or give them to you at the Group on the 22nd - you let me know!

Heather - I am so excited for you - isn't it fun fitting into things you couldn't before - I have a pair of jeans I'm dying to button - will be able to in about another 5lbs. They are the cutest apple bottoms with black velvet designs on them size 13 - again, they run big!

Hey Nicole - you CAN wear tennis shoes with apple bottoms - you just cant with skinny jeans or your feel look huge! Not all apple bottoms are skinny jeans. I can't wait to see you in your little outfit - ladies, she looks hot in her tiny size 9's!

Tina - so you had a little ice cream - big deal - you're still down! Have an unstressful day at work :sneaky:

Maria - the group starts at 11. Hope to see you there!

Okay Ladies it appears everyone is game for next weekend so lets say 2 p.m. saturday will be good. Maria you are welcome to bring something if you'd like but you don't have to. I will make lots of Protein food, not too much carbs, salad for those who can eat it and whatever comes to mind. Please feel free to give me food suggestions since most of us are in the same stage of foods.

Riley Jane are you coming?? Pam? Where is Chris and Candi?? I'll try calling them.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
