Morning girlies!

Terry - the jewelry looks beoooootiful.... Just love it... and you and your husband look too cute! I keep forgetting to post me and Juan's pic from our company party.

Here is me and my cachetonsito (it means chubby cheeks! He gained about 10 lbs since Thanksgiving, LOL)

Laura - your wall hangings look too cute! You are so creative! And wow, i can't believe that lady! People seriously surprise me every day...

Pammy - Woo hoo! That was such an awesome compliment. Makes all that work worth it, huh? And I loved loved that recipe. We definetly need to bring it with us to Alabama!!

Suzie - you look too cute in all that snow with your little dog! Wow, it looks awesome from afar but I don't think I could live in it, day after day...

Survivor finale was so predictable. I knew that Sugar was screwed either way. I don't know why people had a problem with her though. It was a game and she played it well, forming alianses and watching her back. I don't get why some of the arrogant ones like Marcus and Corrine and the lawyer felt betrayed for being voted out. HELLO, it's a game. Just because you're handsome and look like a model do you think that you don't deserve it? I liked Kenny's response to Corrine when she said that Marcus didn't deserve to be kicked out, he was like "why didn't he? tell me who does?". Loved it... Anywhoo, I really liked this season...

Good morning!

Laura you are so creative!!! LOVE the wall hangings. :smile2:

Terry you are so beautiful!

Tracy: LOL!!!!!!!!!!! no coladas today OK? (and no cheesecake for me)

Haydee: You and your chubby cheeks boytoy make such a cute couple.... and gawd that hair... I LOVE IT.

Pam: WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! go girl! We had spaghetti last night.. (they had spaghetti, I had brisket)

Jenn and Jane I hope you get to feeling better.

Kat: My heart goes out to Kinsey... a sucky situation.

Suzie: It looks like lunch tomorrow is off, since an ice storm is supposed to hit! bummer

Judy: How is the new snow blower??? Did you get the fudge boxed up?

Michelle: what are you fixing today?

I talked to my mom last night and she had a much much better day. She was able to eat some tomatoe Soup and that made her extremely happy. She just emailed me asking about my first fill.

My step dad has lost a total of 10 lbs this week! Since going to Denver!!!!!! he is now down 80 lbs doing low carb.........

Haydee the pictures are great!!

I agree, I wasn't sure why Sugar was out of the running, I liked her... but at the jury tribal she really didn't try, she just said oh well and shrugged kind of thing. I think if she tried, she could have at least gotten ONE vote.

Corine is definitely psycho, I couldn't believe her comments. But Randy is psycho too!! I would have smacked him before the show was over.

Maddy was nice but I didn't want him to win, can't really explain it, but his overly-whipped by his gf bothered me.

Also shocked Suzie almost won, I can't believe she lasted so long, she reminded me of the lunch room lady of last year.. not a threat so she just kind of snuck in there.. but then to get 3 votes from the jury was really surprising.

Corinne Corinne, she'll get hers... I really can't belive she was proud of her behavior. The vile just coming out of her was just incredibly evil. I can't imagine what her friends and family must think of her!

I think if she tried, she could have at least gotten ONE vote. She needed to speak up and say HELLO PEOPLE, why do you think you are on the jury....ME thats why!

Corine is definitely psycho, I couldn't believe her comments. But Randy is psycho too!! I would have smacked him before the show was over. I really have a hard time thinking somene is that hateful. I would rather think she is doing it for TV attention, kinda like the guy that lied about his grandma dying...Johnny Fairplay, remember him?

Maddy was nice but I didn't want him to win, can't really explain it, but his overly-whipped by his gf bothered me.

Her getting 3 votes proved to me that Sugar really must have rubbed people the wrong way. I just wish Bob would have SAID something nice about her (Sugar) since she practically gave him the money.

Corinne Corinne, she'll get hers... I really can't belive she was proud of her behavior. The vile just coming out of her was just incredibly evil. I can't imagine what her friends and family must think of her!

I would like to smack the shit out of her...:smile2:

Thanks for the props girlies...I am busting w/ excitement today! I left Susanne in her pj's under a blanket on the couch, watching a old black and white movie w/ Joan Crawford, on a gloomy wet rainy day. UH...can you say jealous???

I loved the pix Haydee and Susie! Susie...I had a chill just looking! Haydee you and Juanito look sooo cute together!

We ended up having a lean pocket for dinner last night. We went and looked at a house down the street we are possibly interested in buying as an investment property and rental. It is a great time to buy now. We are looking at a better one today on our street too! Dinner is baked "fake fried" chix, zuccini and salad! But until then...there is Velvetta fudge, muffins, Bagels, coffee, sticky Buns thingys GALORE in the lounge...yeah, and someone shrunk my pants!!?????

Good morning. How is everyone? I am unmotivated and tired, and my tummy hurts a little where they did that biopsy. But, just a little, just enough that I can complain!! I still haven't mailed my ss gift. I hope they get it on time! I am glad I didn't mail it yesterday, because I got something in the mail that I forgot I had ordered for my gift!!

Pamela, that is great news on your dissertation!!!!!!! How many chapters do you have left? Are you halfway? That always helps me in a strange way to say I am 1/2 or 2/3 done.

Haydee and Terry those are great pictures!!! You both look so happy!!!!

I just watched the last survivor last night, I saw the reunion show, so I knew who won, but I didn't see the show. I would have liked to have sugar win, but Bob was a good choice. I DIDN'T LIKE CORRINE OR KENNY!!!!!! Maddy was okay, but Susie???? I didn't have an opinion of her one way or another, but Susie winning survivor? I can't believe she came so close and Sugar didn't get any votes! This season kind of grossed me out because they were so dirty! Okay here I go off to get ready for work!!

Have a good day!!

Tracyks give your mom a violet hug from me!! They are predicting ice here tomorrow, but judging from the picture Suzie sent, we have nothing like what you have.

Good afternoon, Violets..

Just back from my hospital shift. Ethan is here and sleeping on the couch. Bob was not able to use the new snowblower today cause I was gone and Ethan had a melt down when his daddy left. Soooooo I'm home now and the new snowblower will get it's trial run. We got about 4 inches of snow last night.

I got all the fudge boxed up and ready to be given out. I think I will make a couple more batches to take to the hospital next week. I also have Cookies to make for the after caroling party on Monday.

Lots of personals to catch up on, but I'll take the easy way out and say ditto to everything everyone has said about everything and everyone. There.. that was easy!!

Off to fix some lunch and wait for Ethan to wake up.

Everyone have a great day. I've had a slice of cheese so far today. And 3 glasses of flavored water.

Janie, no, I am more like 5-10 pages away from finishing the entire thing!!! I plan to have ALL of chapter 5 (there are only 5 chapters) written by Friday! Then I will have MAJOR edits to do over the next 6 weeks...but the hard part is creating the chapter, not editting it! I have 138 pages done w/ just ch. 1-4!!! Ch. 5 will be about 20-25ish. woohoo! Wish I were home now, in pj's and writing! but a girl has got to "pay the bills"!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
