Home from the gym and did 30 min of cardio. I have been down in the dumps for 2 days and think the exercise will help! I think I am PMS'ing, but because I don't have TOM anymore, I have no idea when that happens!

Have a great day!

Hello everyone,

Just checking in this AM. Busy, busy, busy day for me today . . . it is not even 10 AM and I am already feeling like I could go for a nap, lol.

Welcome back Haydee . . . I will send you my email address :0).

I am on Facebook too but haven't been for very long and don't have many friends yet, lol. I would like to add a few of you, I will have to start looking you up. :0).

I finally have a baby bump to post, which you couldn't really tell even a couple of short weeks ago. It is now growing out instead of just up so I will have to post a couple of pictures.

Who would have thought that I wouldn't really show until 7 1/2 months??? For the first time yesterday, someone who didn't know I was pregnant patted my belly and obviously thought I was.

For the last couple of months I looked like I have been hanging out at the local dunkin donuts more than being pregnant. Instead of having a belly just to the front . . . I had the spare tire look going where it was bigger in the front and at the sides as well (picture reverse hour glass, lol). I was starting to look like I was carrying a bit o' baby in my butt as well, is that even possible???

I was actually worried about my lack of belly during the last ob appointment but the doc said not to worry, we are both healthy and I am just having a small baby. She said the baby is in the 21st percentile but perfectly healthy and active. My son was perfectly healthy, born on his due date but was only a six pounder as well. Perhaps it is a hereditary thing, lol.

I asked my dh how big the babies are in his family, would you believe he doesn't have a clue??? I am sure it is only the women who a.) care much about or b.) openly discuss the birth weights of our babies.

Terry - half price tickets where? Did i miss it or is it today?

Pammy - so sorry about your friend. so so sad. will keep her in my prayers.

So i've been feeling blah this morning. Weather is yucky. I have a ton of work. Literally a ton. I can't seem to get started on it. I checked my email. Checked my Facebook. Saw pics a friend sent me. Went and got coffee. Messed with my IPOD. Checked airfare for Juan's mom. So far have not looked at a single invoice. ARGH... I guess I better get to it...

Hello...

TracyinKS...if you are like me...its not a fill problem, its a head problem. No amount of fill is gonna help me. Even if my band was at 100% capacity, I would still eat ice cream. So, I am working on my mental state...then the physical will follow. BUT, that is just my 2 cents :P

This is what EVERYone wants to know! I dunno... it's just ME! Newspaper articles, photo spreads, winning ice cream for 100... it's like I said to the kids last night... I try to live every day like a new adventure, with a positive attitude, and be open to new opportunities -- even doing just the routine day-to-day stuff -- and sometimes you just never know where the day will end up! Like yesterday -- when I woke up, I had no idea that before the end of the day I'd be "booked" on the Today Show!! What a HOOT!!!

Ok, I think my skype is set up. Now I have to re-arrange the office so my "background" is nice! lol!! Good thing I just got my hair cut... but it's too short!! Does the camera add length to hair like weight to the bod?

PAMELA... maybe I don't have the correct phone number for you?? I called the one off the list... hmmmmmm...

I had to cancel my lunch w/my friend -- ironic, no? DD is home sick & I just had to work to catch up & stop feeling so guilty... like now! So bye for now!!

Ugh -- fills! Sore subject. The .5cc I got last week help a teeny tiny bit, but I can STILL eat ANYthing... slowly, and a bit less than 2 weeks ago... but really, 3/4 of a gyro + fries? That should *not* go down! No pb'ing. No fuss no muss. Ugh.

It's like my perfect restriction is a distant memory. I could NOT eat any bread, sandwhiches were out of the question. Now I'm wide open, I've had a sandwhich every day at least once a day (PB&J). Forgot how much I liked them, and I can't wait till I can't have them anymore. Where's the slime, the PB (not PB&J!).

michelle - did they say your pouch was enlarged? that's exactly my problem too. i should freaking has some sort of restriction with bread at least. I feel nothing!

laura - PB&J is also my favorite. I used to have them all the time on white bread. I haven't tried one recently but i'm sure i would have no problem getting it down...

tracyk - my problem is also a head problem but my band should at least work with me not against me! I know that ice cream is gonna go down regardless of the fill but pizza and sushi??

While I was in Mexico all we ate was mostly fish and fruit. We did not have access to bread or pizza or burgers or anything like that so we just didn't have it. At every sitting I was able to eat a whole grilled fish by myself. With fresh avocado and fresh pico de gallo. For Breakfast it was eggs with fresh fruit on the side. If I ate like that every day I would lose weight. I came back minus 3 pounds from my vacation even though all I did was lay around mostly.

If I could eat like that here then absolutely I would lose weight. I wouldn't even need to be banded, it would just come off! But the reality is that I choose the wrong things most of the time. And my band doesn't stop me...

ohmygawd it was good. one time we were waiting for our meal and here comes this boat and he docks right next to the pier and the owner goes running out and grabs his catch and brings them over to our table so we can see our fish that he's about to grill for us. These beautiful huge fish and they tasted amazing.

oh and it was too funny one time my dad ordered lobster. they're so cheap he ordered like 3 of them for himself. so they're taking forever to come and we're all eating and his food isn't coming so he asks what's taking so long and it was because they're out catching the damn things, LOL. It was too funny! Then we see this guy pulling up to the dock with a cage full of live lobsters! They were the spiny ones or else I would have lived on lobsters my whole time there too!

I have to share the rest of the pics with ya'll. This place is awesomeness...

I felt really bad for our two boy cousins that went with us. They don't eat seafood. they would have to eat these horrible little pieces of meat that looked really gross. And they don't like vegetables or fruit. they were so ready to leave after a few days. I'm not even sure why they went. They are computer guys that preffer being inside a dark room living off chinese food and pizza. needless to say they did not have a very good time... They mostly slept in their rooms...

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
