Jane, you crack me up! I CAN NOT wait to see you in June! I will practice my cell phone picture taking skills in the meantime!:smile2::)

Terry, I never understood the people on Dr. Phil or any of those spill your guts shows. 1. What rock are they living under 2. Why would they tell the WORLD their business, and 3. You can almost hear the dueling bangos if you listen closely.

AI talk: I LOVE ADAM! I love how he is "outside the box" and is inventive. I also like the tattoo chick; she has a good sound, but has sucked the last few weeks. I LOVE my Justin Timberlake guy (don't really know names yet)...AND Danny! My other fav is the 16 yr. old chicky w/ the old soul!!! She is amazing!

Michelle~ sleep good and you will be fabu tomorrow! I can not wait to see you...got the DVR set! You are scheduled for 8:45 right? That will be 5:45 my time (but will air 8:45 my time)...make sure you post asap! Thanks for the email:rolleyes:...and you will KICK ASS!

OK...hangin' at the homestead! have a great night!

As for AI, only 2 people stand out to me this far.. Lil Rounds & Adam Lambert.. everyone else (take into consideration I missed last week) SUCK. I can't stand the blonde, the timberlake looking kid did horrible this week.. and most of them keep picking songs I really don't like.. the first and last guy from this week were so bad I FFWD. Well, I FFWD through the blonde girl too.. she sounds so weird!

Good Morning, Today Show Viewers!!~~

Laura, Yep, it's "Today" @ 7am... it goes 'til 11am, but I'll be on around 8:50am or so...

I've memorized my question (I hope!)!!

I don't think of this as airing my dirty laundry (altho my MIL does & she's all "now all my friends will know that my DIL is losing her mind!" ugh) but more as asking a question that thousands of us busy gals wonder from time-to-time... how much fogetfulness is "normal" & how do you know when it's more than that?

It'll be over in a blink...

Just a "now for something completely different" moment in my humdrum life!

"See" you all later! lol!!

Morning Girls~

Where the hell is Michelle?? I guess she is off signing autographs! I can't believe Judy missed a violet on national tv! Damn...perhaps she can google it or it could be pulled from you tube.

Busy day here. We worked out...and I am jazzed, I am up to pulling 75 pounds (far different from lifting). That is pretty cool since when I started I was pulling about 30 pounds! I could barely get through 3 sets of biceps at 10 lbs (big difference). Anywho...we are going to Melissa Etheridge tonight. Not really happy about it being on a school night (lawd, how old am i?) but it should be fun! We already cancelled the trainer in the am...and will try to sleep in until about 6am!

Can't wait to hear from Michelle!

Can't wait to hear from Tracyk, Terry and Haydee too...so jealous ya'll are going to lunch!

Can't wait until Friday!

OH yeah, we are having a free consultation w/ a dog trainer Sat am! Klaus is about to be tame...haha! He doesn't know he is a rottie...he just thinks he is my baaaaby!

Have a great day!

xoxo

Ok... Well THAT wasn't what I thought it'd be like!!

Disclaimer: I am not a big fuzzy blur -- really!

Here's how it went:

They called me on skype around 8:30am. I'm all dolled up and wearing my precious Vi necklace that Terri made me (I'm not sure you can tell that in the video). We test sound, etc.

Then they tell me that on skype, you see the person's mouth moving before you hear the words (or vice versa, I don't remember), so I should keep my question as short as possible. Uh, hello? You had me memorize a 4-sentence blurb and that's what I'm prepared to do! Yikes.

So I sit there for 1/2 an hour and then they come back & say it'll be a little after 9am and that I should just nod & smile whenever I'm not speaking. Now, I have to turn off my monitor so the glare doesn't reflect in my glasses, and also so I'm not tempted to look down at the screen -- I have to look only in the camera.

So the segment starts and they read an e-mail question from some other gal (& I'm sitting here wishing I'd gotten that option!) and it's basically MY question! WTF? So the doc talks & then they intro me, I say my blurb, & the doc answers a totally different question -- she doesn't ever actually answer my question -- she goes on about "I bet she's sleep deprived, and sleep is important, blah dee blah..." -- I specifically told them earlier in the week that that wasn't an issue at all for me!! -- but I sit & smile & nod, the end.

So I bolt to my dvr & rewind & watch it and -- ACK!! I'm a giant blurry woman!! It's horrible!! Really, if you haven't seen it, don't bother!! The Mickey's are clearer than I am! Maybe I should've sat up on the top of the filing cabinet!!

Well, another interesting brush w/the media (remind me to tell you about the USA Today panel I was on for years... talk about mis-quoting someone!).

Back to reality... at least I'm crisp & clean in the "real world"!

What a day to be off all morning!!! Yep the Dr. has an extended surgery, so I am not going in until noon, and going to be there til 5, while the moron guy tries yet again to get our computers going right. They hired the most inept guy around I think! They didn't know either, but he has things so screwed up, I think they will have to hire someone else to start over, but they are giving him another chance to fix it today.....we'll see!!

Sooooooooo I get to watch Michelle this morning!! I still have it set to record, but want to see it "live" too!! Today is on here, and I am just waiting.

Didn't get back last night, we went to dinner with DS and DGS, and DD and DGD, it was fun. The kids had a blast, the big ones as well as the little ones. The big ones, are a bit secretive about DS's life and what is going on, with his marital split. DD is totally and completely protective of him, if we say ANYTHING that she interprets as us not siding with him, she gets all bent outta shape. The little ones, run, and tumbled and giggled, and laughed all night long. Was fun, but I was ready for bed when they left!!! And that was NOT an April Fools joke!!!

Work is still good, things are coming a little easier now. I am learning where to find things, and how they do different things. The Dr. is hilarious, and friendly. Hope things always stay this good.

I managed oatmeal for Breakfast, as opposed to drinking breakfast this morning. That is good. I think my fill level is good. Weight is coming down, in tiny little increments, .2 of a pound at a time, but it is coming DOWN is the point!! I am down another pound or 2 from my ticker, not sure, I got up and grabbed a heavy robe, it was COLD 17 degrees this morning! Good grief!

Got Kinsey in her bed sleeping! I called Manda and told her to bring her to me in the morning. She ask why so I told her I quit my job! She was shocked and I let her believe it until we met for dinner, then hit her with April Fools!!! LOL

Thought I would let my Mom sleep in today, and let her come here, besides, it is good for my heart to look in and see her in her bed snuggled down sleeping!!!

Well, guess Michelle wasn't on the pirannha part of the show!!!

I am going to go get some things done. I need to get some things ready for Rick to go to TX. He said he would do it, and I know he would, but he is out of practice (for years) of taking care of all of his own things that way. With me not working, I always did it! I won't abandon him now!!!

Talk to you girlies tonight.

So excited about Carson's eminent debut.....being so soon!!!

Kat

LOL yeah I saw the piranhas and Meredith looked DRUNK. Kept hitting her co-host and trying to get him to repeat something he was doing off camera, then hitting on Seth Rogan.

I had to give up and go to work, but I recorded it. I was wondering if the segment got cut, then they said they'd be doing something about memory loss in the 9'o'clock hour, so I thought it'd be 9:45 (and that I was wrong converting time). Oh well, I'll watch it when I get home anyway!!

(That's what I was waiting for..I've been watching Today show since 7am)

Laura... that must be their evil plan... "invite" regular folk to be on the show & then they get all their friends to watch it so their ratings stay up! LOL!!

I've already gotten a call from an old friend who I haven't seen/heard from in about 2 years (pre-band!) who saw me... she said she heard my voice & knew it was me! lol! So that's one good thing... reconnecting.

Oh kind of a crappy pic (cell phone), but I took pics of the belly this morning. Decided to wear a dress since I can't keep any pants up anymore.. Looks normal from the front.. then BAM, big belly on the side lol.

Mom has been going on and on about induction and how painful it is and how she'd never wish it on anyone (she was induced with my brother 1 week late) but from what I gather they gave her all the pitocin at once and then she was in labor for 2 days.. from the stories I read online (trying to get an idea of what to expect if I do it), it's a gradual build up-which my doc did mention, and it seems quicker than when my mom did it. Since my doc said she'd break the Water, she wouldn't let it last 2 days, she'd do a c-section before then. Anyway, mom is being a bit bitchy about it, she's like 'I'm just going to laugh when you're in pain and tell you how I told you so'... and I said, so when you were in labor, do you think it would have been helpful to have someone snarky there trying to tell you crap like "I told you so"????

Throughout this whole thing, anytime I hear something new from the doc, or learned something new in classes.. it became a big joke to her, because that's not how SHE did it, or SHE knows better, etc. etc. My best answer is, I'll find out for myself, but she likes to tell everyone how I'm naive and falling for all this crap.. I'm just telling her what I hear.. jeebus.

This is the wonderful character flaw she inherited from my granny, and I'm sure I've got it too. Nothing can just be "good for you", it has to come with snarky comments and criticism.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
