My SS is lucky to be getting the gift at all....I love the box and the gift in it and did not wanna part with it..LOL I will just go get me one too :)

It was so great paying off some bills yesterday. Now they are history...gone...siyanora :crying: WOOHOO! No car note either...sweet....:frown:

Today I am going to do some Christmas shopping for Macy. She wants a cupcake maker:scared2:. That is what she told santa she wanted so I will go get it. Hopefully it runs out of batter really quickly, lol. My mom already got her the lion cub she wanted. She is at the age that she wants everything she sees on TV. "mom, I want that" "Mom, I want that" MOM HURRY AND COME LOOK....I WANT THAT"!! lol

I also need to get something that I thought I would never get....bigger winter clothes. Thats right...my long sleeved shirts are too tight. :crying: I dropped all my bigger winter clothes off @ Goodwill last spring. BUT, it is what it is and I will fix it and move on. Most of my 12/14 (stretch) pants still fit....I always gain weight in my upper body. Its the linebacker in me. Even when I got down to 173 the smallest shirt I could wear was 18/20 or MAYBE a big 16. Now I am back to a 20 or 22. Oh I could SQUEEZE into 18 but I hate tight clothes. If it clings to me, forget it! I will not wear anything that lets the rolls show. :blushing: I spy some serious new years resolutions. :mad2:

Have a great day everyone and lets strive for a good pie hole report, k?

So far I have had coffee:biggrin:

Sitting here watching it snow. It's so pretty but that is because right now I don't have to get out in it. I'll have to keep an eye on it though. I'm scheduled to work the late shift today. We'll see.

On to my second cup of hot chocolate. I ran out of marshmallows though. Abby was over yesterday for a couple of hours and we sat and roasted them in front of the fire. She had such a good time doing it.

Have a great day and don't forget that it is CTCD. That means you Suzie.

Good morning, Violets..

Been up for a while now. Took DS Joe to work so I could have my car today. We should have the deal wrapped up on Joe's car this week. Then I will have my car back permanently!!

I have a funeral to sing at this morning, then finish up the fudge making. It's darn cold here. 7 degrees right now. No snow or rain in the forecast so I'll keep my fingers crossed I can get in the hot tub tonight. Haven't been able to do that for several days because of the weather.

We have our last rehearsal tonight for Amahl and then the performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It really is going to be a nice production. It's all local talent of course and they are amazing. I'm just part of the shepherd's chorus so no big part, but still is fun.

I've been on ebay lately getting things for the baby shower in January. Such fun!! Kris is coming over on Friday to go over everything and make sure we've got our ducks in a row.

Time to go get dressed for the funeral. Everyone have a great day and make wise choices!!

Hey Violets~

Last night I had German noodles and a pork chop. This pie hole report is not looking good. There are soooo many freakin treats in the lounge, in my box (friend gave me ginger snaps), EVERYWHERE. I will work out on thurs and fri and every day (or nearly) of vacay...but I am weak...weak I tell ya...about the treats! Me Likey!:mad2: I wonder how I got fat in the first place???:blushing: Oh yeah...someone brought in REALLY moist choc cake for lunch yesterday!!! WWHHAAAAAA! I need that show Intervention!

Speaking of which, I watched that show last night. I caught 2 episodes. Now I am hooked!

Lastly, I will get my SS gift in the mail today! Gonna go priority mail. CAN'T BELIEVE THERE ARE ONLY 9 DAYS UNTIL XMAS...AND I NEED TO WORK 4 OF THOSE DAYS! I have no shopping to do...Sus and I are doing no gifts for each other. Just Sat. night, she bought herself some DVD set for nearly $300 and I bought myself a new phone for $200. That is why we are not getting each other presents. We said, the only thing we need to get for each other is anniversary gifts. No more bdays (except out to dinner) or any other gifts. She will get her mom something, and put my name on it!

We drank a bottle of yummy wine last night too! WOOHOO...she went to bed at 8pm! haha

peaceout

TracyK - before you spend too much money let me go through my stuff to see if I have stuff that will fit you. We have opposite body shapes. I'm in a 14/16 top with an 18/20 bottom so all my size 20, 22 stuff I still have from last year...

I never had the 'what the hell did I do' stage. I remember reading about that stage in blogs before my surgery, it made me extremely nervous.. But I was so dang excited about being banded, it never hit me like that.. that I made a mistake.

LOL about Macy, that is funny about her wanting everything on TV.. I remember those days!! A friend of ours has a 6 year old son, who was going through a catalogue of toys and would go "Dad, is this for a boy?" and he'd say "Yes" and he'd go "Ok good, I want this." If it was for a girl, he would keep looking.. lol.

Oh Russ & I got our Christmas bonuses at work last night. What does he want to do? Spend it on some electronic toy WE DON'T NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He frustrates me.. on our way home from the party he asks if we can use the money to buy a FLAT SCREEN TV.. for the BEDROOM. Seriously?! WHY?!!?!? A month ago (our current one is not flat screen, but it's big and admittedly it does have a broken edge on the top, where there's squiggly lines across the top.. it only sucks when we have weather warnings, they are squiggled out..) anyway.. he said we should get a new TV and I immediately said no. Now we get the bonuses and he wants to spend it.. not only on a new TV.. but a ridiculously unnecessary expensive new TV. That's what gets me the most. Spend $200 on another TV like we have.. why do we have to pay $800 for a flat screen? Just stupid.

Laura~ Where are you buying flat screens for 800? That is a deal!

Sus bought the entire series of SVU (which is her all time fav show). The cost was $270 but she got all these extras too. She loves it... I can not complain...I bought the entire I Love Lucy collection AND the entire Twilight Zone collection...lol! DINCs spend $$ on weird stuff.

This may sound gross...but it is sooooooooo good! Best part it is easy breezy lemon squeezy...did I mention good?!

VELVEETA cheese FUDGE

1 lb. butter

4 lbs. powdered sugar

1 tbsp. vanilla

1 lb. Velveeta

1 c. cocoa

Nuts, chopped

In a saucepan, melt butter and cheese. Sift together the sugar and cocoa; add the butter and cheese to this. Add nuts and vanilla. Mix well and spread in 9 x 13 inch pan. Cool and cut into pieces. This makes a large amount and it never fails, also cheaper than other fudge. You can cut this down. Makes 6 1/2 pounds of fudge.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
