personal trainer ?'s

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a personal trainer? Please tell me about it. How often do you meet with your trainer? What do you do? Approx. how much does it cost? What was your fitness level before the trainer? Any suggestions for questions to ask a potential personal trainer? I have some concerns that maybe some of you can help me with.

1. I am not fit at all. I see shows like the biggest loser and I am terrified by what I see. Do they start out slow and let you build up gradually?

2. I am having alot of trouble with my hips lately and my back. Can this be worked around?

3. I am really good at avoiding and not acknowledging things I don't like. I fear that if a trainer is too tough on me or talks to me the way they do on the biggest loser I will just quit. Have any of you dealt with this? What did you do? Can I convey this to my trainer?

Can anyone reccomend a trainer?

Hi, I found your question under "unanswered posts." I'm in TX but could tell you that here you pay between $60-75 per hour session. Most trainers want to a minimum of 2 sessions per week and act like that is a "rule" but if you can only afford once a week, just tell them. You need to meet with them and see if your personalities would match. Do you belong to a gym? I've used trainers at the gym but prefer independent ones as they have less rules to follow for lack of a better description and aren't forced to sell side products like nutrtitional items or Vitamins. Hope this helps!

Hi Heather

I have a trainer with LA Fitness and I schedule when I want to. I bought a years worth of training which costs me 300 a month. Their approximately 25.00 for a half hour.

I schedule the time on line and usually try to go 2 x per week. I don't lose out if I don't go 3 x per week. I have a certain number of sessions (whatever 3x/week for ayear is) and when I'm not using them they just stay there until I do. So even after I've finished paying them I will still have some left. I usually go in first and do 45 min of cardio and then half hour of weights with them I've lost 22 inches since May when I started.

I think its a good motivator. I was sidetracked recently with a bout of sciatica and believe it thumb pain...I went to orthopedist to find out I need a joint replacement in my thumb!!! go figure.

Good luck to you...

I have a 10 cc band with 6.5cc filled. I'm not sure I'm at my ideal...haven't lost much for a few months....really taking in too many carbs...but this is a process.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
