Stuck in more than one way

Recommended Posts

HI,

I could use some advice. I am stuck in all ways...I had my surgury 9-23, I lost 20 lbs the first month..Yeah..but I have lost ZERO since 10-23.....I am stuck at 208...When I eat sometimes the food gets stuck...this mostly happens at lunch time when I am at work....Other days I can eat anything and everything, in moderation of course. I exercise three times a week, two of those three are with a trainer. I calculate my calories exactly..I weigh everything and am eating an average of 1000 calories. These are not empty calories they are real calories..chicken fish broccoli zucchini chili eggs .....Please give me some advise on what to do...oh yeah the other thing is I have such a hard time drinking all the Water I am supposed to I drink about 20-30 oz a day. How do I unstuck.

Vickielynn--You're doing great! Think about it--That is WAY more than 1-2 lbs a week. But I do kind of understand. Do you feel more in shape and stronger though? Think about what you could do when you first started with your trainer and what you can do now. Maybe that will help you thru till you start losing again. The scale is stuck for me too and I started working out (couch to 5k program) last week to kick things up a notch. When I went in for my third fill I was telling them about it and the nurse/advisor (who is AWESOME) let me know that I may experience a plateau while my body re-adjusts to the working out but then all of the sudden start losing. She also told me to incorporate some good carbs in my diet on the days that I work out (like a piece of whole grain toast with an egg for Breakfast vs just eggs) because it metabolizes faster than Protein and will help me have energy etc.

Do you maybe need a few more calories--like 1200 on the days you work out?

As far as getting stuck--I haven't had any issues yet but I know that I have to consistantly weigh everything into a 4oz portion and then take a full 30 minutes to eat it so I have to cut REALLY small pieces to FORCE myself to eat really slow and chew alot. Otherwise I feel like I am going to puke. Especially since my 3rd fill.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
