I recieved my band on August 18 of this year. I have finally started losing weight like I should, just for the past 3 weeks, I dropped a total of 10 pounds. Wish I could have lost like this in the beginning then I'd be alot closer to my goal weight, but I'm losing now, so I am happy.

Anyways, I am having severe gas pains about 3 days a week. I have tried things over the counter but nothing seems to be working. When I say severe, I mean, I can't walk upright cause it is so bad and I find myself in the fetal position while having them. I have never had this problem before, just since I got my band placed.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you find to help relieve it?

That sounds terrible! I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a difficult time. If you find the cause or solution to your pains, please post it to help us all learn more.

Oooh! That sounds really painful! I'm sure you've tried Gas-X that kinda helped me......do you think it could be an adverse reaction to something your eating like certain vegetables or something? I'm really new to this(only 7 days post-op) so I may be way off based!

Does anyone else have to burp alot?? and does it stay this way or will that pass??

Hang in there!! Take Care!

I was banded in May & I've had one episode that was so severe that I went to the ER. Before I was seen I took some Gas-Ex thin strips & the pain subsided so I left. I know it can be very scary but the Gas-Ex really worked & NOT the chewables but the thin strips that melt on your tongue.

I also have alot of gas problems since being banded & I have found that staying away from carbs help as well as soon as I feel a side pain I take the Gas-Ex b/4 it turns into that horrible, paralyzing pain. I'm on my way to the drug store to get some Activated Charcoal supplements to take regularly to see if that helps keep it away.

Good luck & you're not alone.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
