Yes, they are about to deploy. Casing the colors is taking the unit flag and casing it until they arrive then they will have another ceremony when they return next year.

I didn't make it to the ceremony. I was in a bit more pain this morning plus he got the time wrong and I didn't have time to get there. Maybe I'll make it out tomorrow.

Teresa;

Thanks for the info. Hope you are feeling better...I'm about to head out to the library to pick up some books on tape. I'm planning to go to work on Monday...so I need to get moving. I feel good, but not energetic. I'm hoping I make it through the day, but would be satisfied with just a few hours. I have a desk job, so it should be alright! I'm glad your hubby was with you for the surgery and that you've had the extra few days together. My prayers and best wishes are with you both!

Susan

Teresa, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband as he deploys. I am glad he was able to be with you for your surgery. Please let him know he will be in our prayers while he is in harm's way. We pray he and his unit will return safely. My thanks to both of you for your service and your sacrifice.

:wink2:SuzQ , no binder at all. nor morphine pump. Every surgeon and patient is different. Pain Ball came out easily, no pain or discomfort- it only sounds bad- it wasn't

using liquid Tylenol now if needed.

He leaves tomorrow. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. My main goal was to have the surgery before he leaves so he could have no worries about me. Now, he'll come home to a new wife...ha ha ha... (at least how I used to be).

This should be his last deployment, the plan is to retire a year after he returns. He has been in for 21 years the end of the month.

We just moved in Nov to get into a bigger (and cheaper) house off post and then my surgery and getting him ready to go. My family will be here for Christmas so I have plenty to keep me busy, finishing unpacking and getting pictures and such up on the walls. As well as working full time and being mom to a high school senior. Plenty to keep me occupied.

Thank you JoannMarie and Suzeq. It's not an easy life but it's been fulfilling and we have been places and met people we never would have otherwise.

Hi Teresa...Congrats on your successful banding and hope you are recovering well! What is your hubby's name so that we may be praying for him? Thanks to him and you for serving our country in the most noble way! And as you need it, we are here for YOUR support, the least we can do while hubby is away. Please make sure you do take the time to take good care of yourself...wow, the new woman hubby will come home to! I understand the Senior thing as my son graduated this year, and one more as a Sophomore! Blessings and safety to you and family! :wink_smile:

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
