Ah thanks Joann!

The way I see it, it really doesn't matter what our name is. What matters is that we're all making a better choice for our life and we're doing it together!

Thanks JoannMarie! It's this simple to me. I have made the commitment for change so why wait for surgery when I can already be making changes now.

Pete: So glad you sound so positive and have already gotten started. I'm going to Tijuana on the 9th to have my surgery. I bet you will be out of the hospital and gone by then. My Doctor is Dr. Corvala at Hospital Angeles. I would try to see how you were doing but you'll probably be gone. Good Luck and God Bless you

Regards,

Vickie

Thanks Vickie for the good luck! This is a great time ahead of us. I will be flying back to Florida on Sunday Dec. 7th so we will just miss each other. I know you will do so well there. The hospital looks just beautiful from everything I have seen about it and I hear the staff there is top notch. Make sure you check back in with us after your surgery! :)

Thank you dear Joanne. I agree with you I don't think the recovery will be the hard part. After having a C-section and a ruptured appendix... nothing is new to me and probably most folks here? Yesterday, after 7 hours of a frightening nuclear stress test for my heart they found high blood pressure that I will be on meds for! Now they find it after I'm paying out of pocket. Too funny...you have to laugh...or.....but I think I will work on being reimbursed by my insurance company. I am very grateful for this wonderful devise that can finally help people win the war over obesity! Have a wonderful Turkey day Joanne...are you able to eat? I can eat veggies...and maybe I'll practice for the mushy stage. Have a blessed thanksgiving day,

God bless,

Marg

Just got the news on Thursday that my banding is scheduled for December 15th!! I am really excited and a little scared, but I think the excitement wins!! I need to get more savy about my signature line, etc. Need to take some time to get it all set up now. Was kind of nervous about jinxing myself before I was approved by my insurance. Look forward to seeing everybody's progress! :grouphug:

Good morning all,

I started the pre-op this morning. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving with my family. DS and DIL had the festivities at their house and others brought many of the side dishes. It was fun, good food, grandchildren (including our first great-grandchild!), time to visit and enjoy. We missed our DD, SIL, and grandson who are posted in Korea till next summer. It is getting harder and harder to have family celebrations without them. My heart goes out to families whose family members are serving in the war zones. God bless them and bring their children home safe.

As I said, I started my pre-op diet this morning. I think the first couple of days will be kinda tough, but it will get better as I get used to it. We did not bring many leftovers home with us - just a few things DH really likes - so I don't have a lot of temptations around here.

Off to a good start - the ball started rolling this morning! I am excited!

Hi Marg, it sounds like things are going pretty well for you. It is a good thing they found your high blood pressure now. I'm willing to bet you will be back off those medications after you have lost some of your weight. Your insurance should be paying for treatment for that diagnosis - really has nothing to do with the WLS, was just found during the pre-op testing. We had Cigna for a while through an employer. I was never very impressed with them. They took forever to pay claims - I know my employer was fielding complaints from us all the time. They kept them for a year and switched, to the cheers of all their employees. It does help to complain sometimes!

I just got the news today I can no longer be a Holiday Hottie. My Surgery was Scheduled for December 5th. The Dr's Office Called me this Morning and Had to Change my Surgery Date. The good news is they Moved it to Next Week November 18th.. I was not nervous before but now I am Really nervous. I keep thinking of everything I need to do to get Ready and seems like I don't have enough time..

I just got moved up from FEB to DEC 2nd. I had 10 days notice. The good thing is that I don't have as much time to get scared. The bad thing is that I've got too much to do and can't seem to keep it all straight. My pre-op diet is a mess, my post-op diet plans are not firmly in my head... Oh well, hope yours turned out well. I'll keep you posted!

Ok this is probably the most stupid and off subject question, but what does the "D" stand for in front of DHusband, DSon, etc...... I've seen this a lot, I'll probably smack myself, but I'm curious!!! Hope everyone is doing well and had a great thanksgiving!!

Sue - welcome and good luck tomorrow! We will be thinking about you and hoping you are back to report soon!

and SuzeQ! Wow - what a surprise! That is a great advantage to you, but when I think about trying to get prepared in 3 days it is mind-boggling! After all this waiting, testing, etc., it is great that you don't have to wait another 2 months. Good luck Tuesday! Hurry back to let us know how you are doing!

4 days to go for me...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
