I hope to be a January or February bandster.....I have my insurance approval (after being denied initially)....but as one of you mentioned before, my work schedule too will not make the surgery possible till after the New Year.....

The problem I'm having now is trying to maintain my focus and get back the energy and determination I had last summer......With so much time to wait, I am playing "head games" ... and almost trying to talk myself out of it. But I think I've come too far to quit now...........so I hope to see all of you in 2009 - sharing your success stories! Good luck to all!

I have already completed all the pre-op tests, diet requirements, counseling and consultations. All that is left is the insurance approval and I should be set! I have a cruise scheduled for the first week of January so I'm trying to schedule the surgery for the end of January. I can't wait!

Hi Everyone!! I just got my surgery date today, January 19th! It has been a long road as I had to do the 6 month diet and all my tests before they submit to my insurance and now that I'm approved, my doctor is booked all the way through the holidays. Kinda stinks because I'm a school nurse and I have 2 weeks off at Christmas time anyway. Now, when I come back to school I'll only be there for 2 weeks and then off for another week. I feel a little guilty but I know I have to do this for myself. :cursing:

I'm going to be a January Bandster, just got my date a few days ago. January 27th, 2009!! I'm happy it's going to be in January, because I didn't think it was happening until March, but my surgeon had an earlier opening. Yay for me!

Congrats to those who have their surgery dates for 2009!!

After initial denial, my insurance gave their approval. It's been about 3 months since I saw the doctor and nutritionist so I made appointments to see them both again the first week of December.......so I hope I can be on the January surgery schedule.....if not, February.

So glad to have my motivation back! (after the initial denial by insurance I went off the deep end and ate like a starving refugee!).......now back to healthy eating and feeling inspired once again.

Good luck to all!:smile2:

I'm scheduled for 01/23/2009 and have my pre-op scheduled for Dec 15th. I'm driving to DFW and using TLC Edge since I'm paying for this out of pocket. I'm getting a little anxious - ready to do this now!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
