You sure do have a chip on your shoulder. Family here illegally?

LOL! Nope! The chip on my shoulder is from people like you that spew your hate all over the place.

I guess when you don't have anything to counter you resort to complete ignorance.

So... it's hateful to demand that people follow the laws of the land? You DO know there are laws about coming and staying here, don't you?

I have plenty to counter, but in three short posts it's very obvious it would all go over your head anyway.

First and foremost, if you are a republican (as I consider myself), we HAVE no party. I can only speak for myself when I say that nobody has represented me in a very long time. The closest they have come is Sarah Palin, but sadly she's only running second fiddle.

And it IS my money. If they are taking it from me to pool with money from others to pay to study the mating habits of bottle-nosed gnats, they are wasting MY money. If it's not my money, then they don't NEED my money. Let ME keep it and use it as I see fit.

As for supporting my fellow American, I am not obligated to do any such thing. I have no problem with supporting those who truly NEED. The problem, however, is that need has expanded very much like our own stomachs have, becoming something so overbloated and grotesque as to not even be recognizable anymore. I am not my brother's keeper unless I choose to be. The way I take that comment of yours indicates socialism, unless I am missing something. Too many people are crying "poor mouth," and our greedy government is all too willing to label them as such in order to get them on the government teat.

I am numb towards my duty anymore. I have a government that squanders MY money (and I will cry MY money until I die or the cows come home because it IS my money), and I have lowlifes who believe that if I make even a dollar more than they do, I must split it with them. I owe them NOTHING.

I am a huge believer in personal responsibility. Barring very few circumstances, if you buy more than you can afford, too bad, so sad. I will NOT bail you out. If you sign on for a mortgage for twice the house you can really afford, too bad, so sad, sucks to be you. I will NOT bail you out.

I am a responsible citizen, and I get crapped on everywhere I turn, bailing out this lowlife and that lowlife who wasn't responsible or was simply downright greedy. What about those of us who do the RIGHT thing? We constantly get punished for that and nobody gives a crap -- they just demand more of MY money. I say no more.

Here Here!!!!! Well said! :rolleyes2:

My Dad was 50% Cherokee Indian and he believed every able bodied person should work, that everyone should speak English, and that illegal people in the United States should either be given the opportunity to become a citizen or get out. He's gone now but I think his ideals ring true today.

That's a very wise grandfather, Elizabeth. Just like we shouldn't be the police of the world, neither can we take on everybody in the world. It's breaking our backs, and this is just the tip of the iceburg.

If you CAN work but won't, you can lay in the street and expire for all I care. There was a day and time when people worked two and three jobs because they had enough pride not to go on welfare if they were able-bodied.

Under Bush, my husband and I both lost our jobs because the economy tanked. Last year my company let go people who had been there 15-25 years -- I had been there 23. Our retirement plans and savings shrank because the economy went to hell. Our condo value went down because a certain administration's economy let the mortgage industry go wild and a quarter of the country's in foreclosure. It's not a trickle-down theory, it's a trickle-on economy.

With 43's dismal performance, I can't see where Obama can be any worse.

Then explain to me what "little crotch fruit" means

I don't know what it means either, but I'll be using this term daily since I heard it. Example "Excuse me grocer....I see the bananas and the apples, but where do you keep the crotch fruit? "

Yeah, I'm pretty stupid.

Plain she meant "illegal" crotch fruit, I think that's found crossing the border in your neck of the woods and yes that was a racist comment. I've heard an awful lot of people in the Northern VA, DC, MD area who aren't too fond of the immigrants there. Is that where you spew from Beth?

I don't like ANY crotch fruit that I have to pay for, whether it's illegal, black, white, brown, purple, or pink with lavender polka dots.

I'm not too fond of ILLEGAL immigrants, no. And before I lived here, I lived in a cesspool of illegals -- Texas. And frankly, I don't give a rat's ass if you think it's racist or not. Telling the truth these days gets people coming out of the woodworks using the buzz words that cow lesser people down. I'm not PC and never will be. Some likely won't like what I have to say, but the likelihood is I speak for more than you would like to admit.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
