Funny.

No, it's more than a bad day. It's a bad case of governmentitis. They are getting too big and too strong and too much into our lives. ALL sides. One isn't any better than the other, apparently.

If I have it better than some, then yes, I am blessed. But I have gone through my own hardships yet never EVER expected anybody else to bail me out. I have more pride than that. Sadly many do not.

And what I mean is, when you take into account ALL taxes that are paid, we pay out about 50 percent. Income tax, sales tax, food tax, phone tax, road tax, car tax, tax tax... you get the point.

And to add insult to injury, SO much money is totally wasted!

No, I will not get over it. Since when is anybody stupid enough to be thankful for paying taxes?? Look, if YOU want to pay more and are happy doing so, then by golly, you go right ahead and do so. I, for one, am sick to death of paying for stupid crap that should never be paid for with MY hard-earned money.

Wars and huricanes aside, we pay waaaay too much for the eternally stupid, the lazy, the greedy (and they're not all on Wall Street; many lost their houses because they frankly couldn't afford them and knew that).

And just to set the record straight, you have NO idea where I came from or what I have done in my life.

And most importantly, since when is it the government's duty to help out everybody who gets hit by a hurricane? How much is enough? Enough to rebuild when people CHOSE to live in a hurricane zone? How much are we to bail people out? You KNOW $700 million is only the begining.

People don't save today and have to have every little gadget imaginable, but somehow I'm supposed to feel "blessed" to fork over more of my money because that person went bankrupt? Why???

I've had it with paying for the illegals and all their little crotch fruit, I've had it with bailing out people and companies and millionaires, I've had it with Congress and all their freakin' pork barrel spending on the most STUPID crap.

Yes, I'M FED UP! I already pay more than 50% of my earnings to some form of tax, and I should what? Pull out the vaseline for more??

It obviously makes you very happy to fork it over. If you pay mine too so I can keep it, maybe you can be downright giddy. :)

Geez Beth, a little racist are we? Do you really expect an American to work the fields, cut your grass and clear your dinner table? I didn't think so. Cuz you'd be paying out the a$$ for those things if an American was doing it.

I'd like to point out that most of the McMansions that are for sale in my town have McCain/Palin signs in their yards. Pretty ironic, I think. They have all overextended themselves in order to keep up with all the other morons living in huge houses that they can't afford anymore. So don't blame the poor and downtrodden for all of the financial woes this country is experiencing. Blame some of your republican buddies for raping and pillaging Wall St.

By the way, it's 700 billion, not million.

You know, if you aren't happy with America, then maybe you should move elsewhere. We live in the greatest country in the world and you have the audacity to whine about paying taxes? Please, why don't you try living anywhere else in the world and I'm sure you'll come back and thank your lucky stars that you live in the BEST country in the world.

GET OVER IT PEOPLE! The country has spoken. Yep we are going back to the socialist tax plan that we had under Pres. Clinton. You may remember that time, when the economy was good and China didn't own us !! I had to get over it when the country voted Bush a second term. Now it is your turn.

I cut my own grass and clear my own dinner table and I am an American. Your comment seemed to be doing a lot more sterotyping that anything Beth wrote.

Wow, where did you get racist out of her post? I didn't detect any racist comments in her post. I have read a lot of her posts, and never once have I seen her make a racist comment.

Thank you Susan and Babygrl. When all else fails, some just can't resist throwing out the racism card.

And I TOO have always cut my own grass and cleared my own table, thank you. And the one year when I DIDN'T cut my own grass, I hired an AMERICAN kid down the street to do it. I will not support illegals by being a hypocrite.

It used to be the best country in the world. Now everybody comes here for the perks of America yet try to change it into what they left. It still may be the best out there, but it has been severely compromised by others who want to make our country into theirs rather than assimilating into the "BEST country in the world." :)

Then explain to me what "little crotch fruit" means if that's not racist?

By dinner table I meant in a restaurant, I thought you'd be able to figure that out on your own, guess I was wrong! Believe me, there are things in your everyday life that are touched by illegals.

America is still the best country in the world, and don't forget that at one time your family members were immigrants. I certainly haven't forgotten that my grandparents came over on a boat from Ireland. You are free to leave. Which is more than you can say about most countries around the world.

I have worked in resturants and bussed tables and last I checked I was a total white girl. In fact in few places I eat around my house it has been teenage kids and little old ladies bussing my tables. And I don't forget that my family came here from Poland. However, at the time they did so they followed the rules and regulations that came along with it. Things were different 100 years ago. I have no problem with people coming here from other countries, but I do have problems with them doing it illegally.

As for the crotch fruit, I just saw it as a very funny way of saying children. Maybe I am nieve but I saw nothing racist about it. Please, if I am wrong, let me know because after reading it yesterday I must have used the term at least 12 times because it made me laugh so hard.

"Crotch fruit" does not refer to any race whatsoever. If you choose to see it as racist only, then that is your issue, not mine.

Seems you're wrong a lot. Illegals don't touch my life because I want them to. They have NO business here. They have undercut the American worker and only served to make the business owners richer. Since illegals have come here in droves and taken American jobs, have you seen services or products go DOWN in price?? I haven't. It's simply that the margin is greater for the business person.

My family came over here LEGALLY in 1610 and were some of the original founders of Ulster County, NY. I have NO issue with immigrants. It's when they are here illegally that I take umbrage. They are no better than vermin, imo, if they come here to take from us. I mean, what's the difference between the greedy business owner who takes advantage and the illegal alien who comes here to take advantage? They need to go the hell home and get in line with everybody else wanting to come here. Oh, and while they're at it, LEARN THE FREAKIN' LANGUAGE -- ENGLISH.

Well then Ms. Blue Blood, excuse me! Did you forget that in 1610 America was home to Native American Indians, not Europeans wishing to leave their mother land? So really, how can you say they came here "LEGALLY"? Just because you're family was white and the Native Americans were not?

Illegals aren't undercutting the American workforce, most of those jobs have been outsourced to Mexico, India, China, etc., to make the business owner richer. Get your facts straight.

I agree about speaking English if you choose to live in America.

You sure do have a chip on your shoulder. Family here illegally?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
