Think Oprah has given up?

Recommended Posts

My question is why is everyone SO surprised that she gained weight back? Hasn't she done this her entire life? Why all the surprise now? Everytime I turn on th tv, someone is mentioning how she's up to 200 pounds, like it's never happened before.

Well I'm not surprised.... does that count?

So, I'm confused... Kirstie Alley had WLS?

I don't think it's surprise so much as amazement that with a doc hanging on her coat tails all the time, a personal trainer and chefs, she still can't keep it off. As for why I started this thread, I was annoyed with Oprah's attitude towards WLS considering how she herself failed time and time again.

I hadn't heard Kirsty Alley had WLS. I thought she did the Jenny Craig diet.

Me too. Last I heard that since finishing with Jenny Craig she was planning to develop her own weight loss program for people to follow.

If she followed Jenny Craig and lost, how can she create her own weight loss program and claim it works? I'd think Jenny might have something to say about that!

Here is an article on it...it explains it better than I could. Apparently she has Jenny Craigs blessing. Kirstie Alley Launching Her Own 'Weight-Loss Brand' - Bodywatch, Kirstie Alley : People.com

No offense, but if Kirstie wants to start her own weight loss brand, shouldn't she start using it now and lose some weight before she trys to sell it? Just a suggestion...

Has Kirstie gained back the weight she lost on JC? I haven't seen any pics of her recently.

Kirstie or Oprah?

I don't know why Oprah doesn't just get WLS. I can't believe anyone would choose to yo yo diet as long as she has and not look for an alternative.

I was talking about Kirstie. She had gained it all back last I heard. I was trying to find some pictures, but I haven't been able to find any yet.

She hasn't had WLS, but she has "hated" on some folks who have. Knowing how she's struggled, you'd think if she couldn't muster some sympathy, then she could at least keep her big yap shut.

I didn't know that about her but I did know she was planning to open her own WL center and when I heard that, I laughed and laughed. Does that make me mean? :blushing:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
