2 weeks post op, do I have a band??

Recommended Posts

I've been reading up on posts on how people feel...and although I feel great physically, I have no problems with anything that I put in my mouth. For example, sometimes I still forgot, and will take a big gulp of sf koolaid...doesn't bother me in the least. Is that normal for some? I keep reading how people aren't even hungry and feel full. I feel just like I did without a band. I'm starving all the time, and although I've done really well, I know my 4 oz Soups are really about 5 oz.

I've been on Soups, puddings, and Protein since 24 hours after surgery. I only had to slow my eating the first two days, and now I can seemingly eat like normal, although I force myself to take my time.

It's so hard to wrap my brain around the fact that I shouldn't/won't feel hungry after fills. I'm also weirded out that people have restriction with no fills!!! Fantastic for those of you who have that, but it worries me that I don't feel a single thing! ???

I felt the same way. I have a 10cc band & couldn't tell I had a band until the 2nd fill. THEN that was very minimal restriction. THEN finally after the 3rd fill which brought me to 6cc I had good restriction. I'm about to need a fill again. It's been 7 weeks since my last fill. I have a fill scheduled for next Monday & don't think I need much, just a tweak.

Good luck to you! You'll be feeling like you have a band soon.

You are completely normal. I feel the same way. I just got my first fill yesterday. I'm on liquids so can't really tell if I have any restriction yet. We'll see... Good luck!

you know my first week week i wasn't hungry at all but about the middle of the 2nd week it started creeping in. You are not alone in this. I'm ready for my fill now!!! I think i still have a few though. All diets are different though. I'm eating solids now. I've just been making myself drink more H2O in between meals and that is helping alot. Keep your head up. I think you'll be fine.

yes, you're normal. right now you're in what some consider "Bandster Hell" because you're banded but have absolutely no restriction. Even after your first fill you may not feel restriction. Some people have been known to gain weight the first month or two after being banded. just watch your portions and eat healthy so that doesn't happen!

Hi Midwestchickie, i have to say that i felt the same was just after i was banded. I had one fill and still feel like i need more. I too can eat anything bread, pasta, rice, you name it. And I do not eat as much as i did before the band, but its not because i feel full its because i am trying to keep track of excatly what i am putting in my mouth. I have posted some questions myself about this and from what everyone says this is normal. And like Kalipso2 said i think this is "bandster hell". The only way we can see that we had this done is by the scares. Good luck to you.

I feel very little restriction after my first fill in September. I am more or less doing a real diet. So I won't gain weight before I find my "sweet spot" It depends on the food I eat also. chicken can be hard. I eat very small bites and slowly.

Can't wait for my second fill. Hope by the end of October or early Nov.

Thank you so much for this post. I was banded the 29th of September and wondered most of the things you posted. I'll forget and take a gulp of Water and swallow and then wonder why I was able to do that. It's so good to know others are going through the same things as I am. :tt1:

I'm so GLAD I found this thread!! I have been STARVING...banded on October 1st. I would forget and take a huge gulp of Water after taking a bite of food and....nothing.

After a week of liquids, I began eating mushies. Soft eggs, sugar free oatmeal (at Wal Mart...1.60 a box...go figure!) and grits...God, do I crave grits for some weird reason!

I'm trying to 'eat' twice a day and then blended Soups and Protein drinks the rest. I just want to feel 'not hungry'...my stomach growls all the time and I just feel empty.

Glad to know it'll get better with the fills.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
