I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for November 12th :wink2:. Like most of you I'm excited and nervous.

I don't meet with the nutritionist until the 7th which has me a little worried. If I need to loose some weight that only gives me 5 days to do it.

Well start now -- cut portion sizes, eliminate or cut down on all carbs, and sugars. You most likely know what to do. If your anything like me you have been doing it badly for years but now is the time to stop.

Most of all MOVE ! walk, ride stationary bike, anything but sit there.

Just got my approval and surgery is set Nov. 18th. Very nervous, excited, hopeful and anxious!!! This process so far has gone smoothly and quickly. I have to start a pre-op diet of Protein shakes and a ww dinner two weeks before surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions on the shakes? I have read different things about them. Right now my only fear is the pre & post op diets. If anyone has any words of advice I would love to hear it.

I'm the 20th with you! Having all the feelings and thoughts of everyone else it seems. Still hasn't actually hit me that's going to happen, guess that will when I start my 2 week pre-op diet, which is already stressing me a bit trying to think of anything I need to have before then, which I know is the wrong way to think about it, just a horrible habit that I'm ready to change. Good Luck to you!

My husband and I are scheduled for Nov 13 in Tiajuana, Mexico. Dr. Martinez. Self-pay. This better work cause we're gonna be freakin' broke for a while! :tongue_smilie: I'm really excited -- been reading this web site alot, trying to get an idea of what to expect. It's great to hear from people that are going through what I'm going through with their weight.

I dont have an official date yet but should have surgery sometime at the very end of October or early November. I was just told to follow an Atkins diet with two shakes and a high protien/low carb meal per day until surgery. Does that sound right to everyone else?

hey everyone, me back again, I met with my nutritionist and I am also going to be on the two week liquid diet prior to surgery, I will be on vacation in Hawaii two weeks prior to surgery, which I am not having a problem with, I have convinced myself the trip is NOT about the food, but the sightseeing and relaxing. The question I have is about the protien shakes and finding the right ones....any ideas???

I'm a new member and just jointed today. My date is November 18th. I have only told my immediate family. I'm a very private person and can't stand answering all the questions. I'm pretty nervous. I'm most nervous about how I'm going to continue wanting to be the one who does most of the cooking when I'm not going to be able to enjoy it! I'm sure I will get over it. My doctor in Maine tells me that something, not sure exactly what, changes after surgery and you just "don't want it (all the food)". Boy I hope she is right.

I was happy to hear someone say that they are eating everything right now, kind of like the last binge. I am finding myself doing that a little right now too. Time to stop though, huh!

What I am doing is the cooking and then making smaller portions that I can freeze so that I can have it anytime I want later.

Ice trays work for this -- Make it then, run it through the food processor for the 6-8 week soft foods, then place it in the ice trays and freeze it. When you want it you can use two cubes of your favorite food and just microwave it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
