I personally waited for my first fill due to our vacation. I would not have wanted to go and not be able to eat.........just my personal opinion!!

I had no problems with my first fill. I did liquids that day. The next day I was eating regular foods again....but you never know how your fill will be and it depends on how much of a fill your get. I just had my second fill and had probelms for several days getting use to what I could tolerate and had a copuple pb's ect.. so I guess what I'm saying is everyones different and you might want to wait till you get back just to be on the safe side. You will enjoy yourself so much more if you aren't having to worry about something not agreeing with you. Go on vacation and have fun... then come back and get that fill.

I don't notice anything other than need to drink liquids and chew chew chew. not hungery or want to eat, so vacationing sounds like more fun. can enjoy activities instead of being hungry. my family notices after a fill, cause they " have to wait until moms hungry" and continue asking every 10 minutes " hungry yet?' they are teenagers 16 & 17 so it's a joke. then when I'm hungry, we eat together and share. It is cheaper on vacation cause you share of everyones plate instead of ordering one yourself.

It's you call, I personally have no problem and have had 2 fills.

We are all so different with our fills and how much your individual Dr. will fill you but if it were me, I would wait until I got home from vacation to ever get a fill. I would hate to be too tight and miserable on vacation and not be near a band Dr. in the event I was to tight and needed help. Besides vacations are meant to enjoy yourself a bit. Go and have fun and worry about the fill when you get back, it will still be there :)

hi. I think you should be ok. I was banded the week prior to you (May 23) and have had three fills to date (total 2cc). The first day is back to liquids, but mushy for the next day or two. It is well worth it !!!

Good Luck and have a great vacation !!!

I probably would have answered different last week and told you to wait. But I'm feeling emotionally well-balanced at this very moment, so I'm going for the tough-love answer here. We should act like Banded people every day, regardless of vacation. If you had a fill scheduled, get the fill. Enjoy your vacation, but enjoy it as someone with a band who can eat small portions of anything.

Just trying to think like a good bandster for a change.

I just had a fill on 6/27 and the first few days were fine but I am really restricted now. If it were me I would wait, but thats just because you pretty much know what you can and can't eat right now. After the fill who knows.

But then on the other hand if you are in a rut and haven't lost for awhile and don't want to wait then you should go ahead just be prepared. Every fill is different so who knows.

I too am scheduled for my first fill 2 days before we go to Lake George for the week. I asked the guy at the doctor's office about fills and all he said was, "Well, it takes some time to get used to it" Believe me, I dont want to spend a week at a resort throwing up and I don't know what to do.

I may call today and reschedule, but I really don't want to because I have no restriction at all and am eating too many times a day.

Nothing is ever easy is it.

If anyone gives you any advice, please, please pass it along to me.

Rosemary

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
