2 lb loss!

My birthday was this week so I think that slowed down my loss this week. I cannot complain about 2 lbs though! I am working out 3 times a week and one of them is a group training session.

I still only have the 2cc's in the band they put in during surgery. I don't think I am ready for a fill yet. I am hoping that I never do, but I know it is there if I need it!

Don't have much time this AM. We're going woodcutting so I gotta hurry. I'll catch up with everyone later but here are my stats for the week.

Last week: 204.7

This week: 202.0

Weekly Loss: 2.7lbs!!

WooHoo!

I did a mile on the treadmill a few times this week but not as much as I wanted to. It'll get better. I'm working up to it!

Take care everyone! Talk to you later!

Congratulations to everyone on your weight loss for this week!!

I'm down 3 lbs this week. I was excited to see that this morning b/c on Monday I was only down 1 pound. I'm not extremely hungry, but I am eating something every three hours. I think the smaller meals more often are helping to keep my metabolism going. I also started going to a gym this past week. I've only gone twice just to work out on the eliptical machine. It's easier on my knees than the treadmill.

Roheryn - Thanks for starting the thread.

I'm up 1.2# this week. I'm back to eating all regular food now, and have no restriction, so I'm really only surprised that the gain was so little. I have concentrated on eating smaller portions than I ever had before, but I figure that I'm still recovering from "starvation mode", so my body is holding on to everything. I'm ok with this. Heck, I probably fluctuate more than that on a day-to-day basis!

I get a new boss on the 1st and was supposed to get my first fill on the 6th. I called the coordinator and begged to be filled a week early because I didn't want to be out of the office right after the new guy started. They are taking me early, so I'll only have had to wait 5 weeks instead of 6. I'll sure be glad for ANY restriction. I know that alot of people are only restricted from the swelling at first and then are the same as before until their next fill. They tell me that my doc is "conservative" on the fills, so I'm probably going to have to get a few before things really start coming off, you know?

I'm up 1 pound this week. I've been at a retreat all week...great food choices were available at every meal & snack time, but I refused to use the workout room...there was zero privacy & I just couldn't do it & I believe that really cost me. I'm back to the treadmill tonight & hope to recover the pound plus another 1 or 2 by next weigh in.

I'm back to no restriction, but will schedule another fill when the phy office opens on Monday.

Everyone is really doing a great job! Keep it up!

Oh my been posting my weight on the wrong thread. Well had my first fill and down 10 from my visit a month ago to the Phy. Asst. She is very happy with my progress. The fill was just 1 cc and I am on liquids and mushies for 2 days. I have been losing about 1-2 lbs. per week. I am happy with that. Getting more exercise helps also. I take it one day at a time and that is the best way.

"Thanks and I've been losing weight, got a bit to go but I'm getting there!" and it was an open invitation she was very animated in her reply "You have lost a lot and are looking great!" It cracks me up though watching peoples reactions but weight being such a sensitive thing they don't want to say anything! But I know they notice and it gives me warm fuzzies :)

That is so true. I found at school the kids are asking my daughter and the teachers are asking my husband. Weird, why won't they talk to me:crying: I am so excited to be losing and noticing it! I had one of my students from last year come by my room the other day and she said I looked great and I had to of lost a lot of weight over the summer. I was so jazzed, I wanted to jump over my desk and hug her!

I am down 2 lbs this week. I went from 237 to 235. The weight is coming off very slow but fairly steady. Had my first fill this week and start eating regular foods again today. I'm not feeling any restriction from my first fill and have to wait a month for a second one. I exercised at Curves 3 times this week and played tennis with my husband twice. I'm going to try to bump up the exercise this week.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
