It is frustrating isn't it. I'm the same way. The scale isn't moving much. However, I have to say it's all me. Are you watching what you eat and exercising? I'm not doing a great job at it so I know that's why my success has been slowed.

We need to remember that the band is only a tool. We still need to do the work!

Hey, just had my first fill yesterday and when they weighed me I weighed the same as I did a week after surgery. I lost 11 pounds that first week and that was it! People kept asking me how much I had lost and telling me how great I looked! Well, where I had my surgery we get three free months at the gym at the hospital and we get our own personal trainer~~~~so, I also saw her yesterday and I may not have lost any more weight but I had lost 17.5 inches, so sometimes the results are not on the scales! Yeah, I want to see the scale move too but I am happy knowing that the inches are dropping!

Theres many bumps along the road. I just made a post about my weight loss on the april avengers because I am doing EVERYTHING right and I have hit a plateau... That is just the way it goes. If for some reason you're not following all the bandster rules I would go back to following them and I bet in a few days you will see a difference.

It's very easy to get wrapped up with the numbers and I am the first to admit I am one of them. I have even considered donating my scale so I will stop standing on it! I am 4 months post op and have lost 48 pounds and hit a wall. I have perfect restriction but not an ounce of change on the scale.< /p>

Trust me it will come and when we plateau we just have to vent then work through it and keep up with all the bandster rules.

You have only had 1 fill so I am sure that is a huge part of it. Most people take 3+ fills before they get it right. You're doing great just keep up the good work and get a 2nd fill. I am sure it will start coming off.

HI,

I just wanted to add my thoughts. The first few months were so hard for me, I barely saw the scales move and was soooo freaken hungry. Until you get good restriction, I think this is normal. "Wish I had Known".

I stayed with the Band rules, only allowed my self to eat a certain amount. I did not eat any starches... noneeeeeeee. I focused on my Protein and veggies. I ate alot of fish, tuna, canned chicken. Also depended on Cottage cheese, egg salad. Just keep it up. IT WILL HAPPEN.

I just really wish I had measured from the begining. I think that would have helped me when the scale was sitting still.

Good luck and keep with the Band Rules.

Lois

I had to have an unfill back about a month ago (6 weeks after surgery). I just received my fill today (only 4.5). I look around and see others losing so much that I can understand how you guys can get disappointed. I hope you just remember that you are making progress, ESPECIALLY when others are noticing it. Keep up the good work.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
