Food Stuck over 2 hours, worst feeling ever!!!

Recommended Posts

So I had one bite of an egg white omelet with ham. BIG MISTAKE. I'm here at work and dying a slow death. It's been stuck for almost 2 hours now. I've been sliming the whole time. Throwing up periodically, obviously nothing coming out but saliva, in chunks! :crying:

Has anyone else experienced this and for this long? Will it ever pass? I feel like there's a tennis ball in my chest that won't go up or down. Please go away!!

I had the same experience at work. I contemplated going to the ER, but decided to try and tough it out. I had eaten some ham steak followed by some salad. No nausea, but major chest discomfort (and I work in a Cardiologists' office too). The sliming started, and I spent about 2 hours back and forth to the bathroom to expell the slime. Never brought up the ham, and maybe one Romaine leaf, and some green slime. Eventually it did subside. If yours does not CALL YOUR SURGEON. People have needed help getting unstuck. If it passes on its own, I would suggest liquids for the rest of the day to give your pouch a rest. If in doubt, call the bariatric surgeon's office. They can advise you.

You shouldn't be experincing that. Call your doctor. They said if i couldn't drink any Water a half hour after, than i need to see them immediately. That kind of stuff can cause your band to slip. Than you have to have recorrective suregery. I can't stress how important it is that you contact your doctor.

You guys should be contacting your doctor way before 2 hours! It's not joke! Not that i think you would take it that way but i made the mistake of waiting and it could have been horrible. I had to have my band deflated and on liquid for two weeks. It sent me into a downward spiral and i gained 10 pounds!

Don't limit yourself on what you can eat. Its about how well you chew and the small bites you take. There is no certain food I avoid except things that are really bready. Those things just make one big ball and clog your hole. :/

Go the nearest Vitamin or health store to get some chewable Papaya Enzyme tablets. Make sure you get the sugar free. The pills I have have sorbitol in them, it's such a small amount that I don't care as long as I get relief. I don't go anywhere with the Papaya enzyme. It gives me almost immediate relief from that stuck pain. Works especially well for Protein.

Good luck.

Cherlita :crying:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
