SERIOUS ONLY: Giving up junk food.

Recommended Posts

I know I've been through this before, but tomorrow is the day I try to give up junk food. I stocked up on colorful veggies and beautiful berries. I got caught up in an unstoppable junk food frenzy, and the only way to stop is going cold turkey.

I've been hiding a dirty secret, too. Prior to banding I never (I mean NEVER) drank real soda. I have no idea where this started, but I've been drinking a real Coke every day, then 2 Cokes, and actually opened a 3rd can last week before running to the sink to spill it out, thinking, "What the F am I doing?"

This can't be fun and games. This is serious. I'm actually afraid.

Anyone else that's damn serious can PM me phone numbers. I'll make my nightly calls and glue the phone to my ear to keep from eating any crap tomorrow. One day at a time. I just need one day. We'll talk about Tuesday later.

Yesterday I ate a Hot Dog. Bun and all. It was very yummy and went down fine, can you say "time for a fill?" Duh. Tonight I ate some Cheetos. I was packing my daughter's lunch for tomorrow (for all day Vacation Bible School) and there were some left in the bag, and I sat down and ate them! Hello!

I'm in. Tomorrow night I will post my food intake for the day and there will be NO JUNK! Only REAL food. Promise!

People its psychological. Its one thing to be without band and know u can have anything while being banded puts a restriction and a psychologically aura that u crave things u never ate before... dont worry about it... ur not missing out... i try to stop drinking soda and once a week i cheat and it never tastes THAT good, meh.

Once I could eat solid foods again I definately went a little overboard....I was supposed to have my first fill last week but I blew all my money on vacation in Vegas week before last :) *sigh*. Yesterday we grilled out and I ate a WHOLE burger- I'm having this thing for burgers cause that's what I wanted before my surgery and then I woke up from the anestesia with a crazy craving for a cheeseburger. I guess the junior banana split from sonic last night didn't help much either. So I'm trying to do better as of today and vowed that i'm going to start my exercise routine tonight and work on these flabby things most common folk call arms :|

I have been on a the soft food syndrome, 11 weeks out and I don't think I have lost much more. I found that soft things like lite ice cream and soft chocolate chip Cookies go down really easy, am I Nuts., oh my goodness. I go for my second fill on Monday the 20, and my doctor will yell at me if I haven't lost anything more. So I also confused my dirty little secret, why does food have to taste so good. All I want is to feel as restricted as I did when I first come out of surgery, I hope someday I will get that sweet spot with fills.

Okay, just to keep myself accountable on the junk food. So far, coffee for Breakfast, 8 ounces of Water. Then...I found myself at McDonalds for lunch...WAIT...long story, don't shoot me! So I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. HA! So after a while I'll drink another 8 ounces of water plus sip on Crystal light. I'll have a CIB for pre-dinner before exercise class at 6:30, then a Lean Cuisine when I get home. I'll let you know if I stick to plans. No chips, no ice cream, no junk food. On Monday.

When Tuesday comes, we'll talk. This is one day at a time business.

NO JUNK FOOD! How's it going everyone?

I just went to the doctor and asked her if there's any new diet pill for night that won't keep you awake. No such luck. I wish I had friends in the pharmaceutical business that I could invent such pill. Just think, you take it at 4:00 p.m. and buzz around scrubbing bathtubs, then suddenly at 10:00 p.m. you can't keep your eyes open and get a full 8 hour's rested sleep.

And today I totally forgot and already drank Coke. I will NOT be eating anything past dinner other than my bowl of fresh fruit.

I have two PMS with phone numbers. I will call someone each night to make a no-junk committment.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
