Rather embarrassing, but...

Wow, I forgot about my thread and look at the replies! :D

Nancy, in general I'm feeling fine physically. I'm exercising fairly often (although not as often as I'd like), and nothing hurts, nothing is bothering me bandwise. I eat plenty, and sleep as well as I can with a 14-month-old who's prone to wake up obscenely early and *stay* awake. :P

No, I think I've figured out what's bothering me, and it turns out it has nothing to do with the band. (Well, maybe a little, but not for the most part.) My husband knew he'd have to pull a lot more baby duty while I recovered from surgery, since our son weighs over 30 pounds and I wouldn't be able to lift anything over 20 pounds until my surgeon gave me the OK. The farther out from surgery I've gotten, the more he's whined about it. That just chaps me - he *knew* about this, he was *encouraging* me to have the surgery (no doubt because he was thrilled about the prospect of having a hottie for a wife :o ), and yet he gripes and complains and makes me feel bad that he's having to do so much. Without going into it here, I already feel like I'm the caretaker instead of the one who's taken care of, and him laying a guilt trip on me for something he knew he'd have to do, after a surgery he wanted me to have, is just a bit much. With all of that going on, I'm just flat out not interested in taking care of sex, too. :P Hard to be in the mood for a man when you feel more like his mother than his wife. Bleah. Again, I know - totally not surgery-related, and I apologize for that. But I sure did need to get it off my chest - thanks for reading, if you've made it this far.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I haven't had any problem with yeast infections post-surgery - never have, thank goodness. :)

I think I have started to feel sexier since losing the 40# that I have so far so my sex drive has gone up. But I have also noticed that for the past couple of months I have had a serious (and very unusual for me) craving for yoghurt! I had not eaten yohurt much in YEARS and then all of a sudden it is a gotta have it food for me. I wonder if my body is compensating for something...

My favorite Breakfast is fruit at the bottom yoghurt with granola mixed in (and let sit for a few minutes to moisten up so that it is easier to eat). I find that this combo is really good for keeping me *regular,* solving that uncomfortable problem that has plagued me from the day I had the surgery.

As to your latest post... I wonder if your hubby isn't whining because this is all "real" now that the surgery is done and he is starting to feel threatened that you will get skinny and _____ (fill in his fear here)...

It never helps but if he thinks "your jobs" around the house is too hard it should be noted that he should appreciate you more for all that you DO DO when you are able to AND how much MORE you will be able to accomplish when you have lost enough weight to start feeling comfortable doing it! You have to be careful with that line and use it wisely - you will know when. ;-)

Perhaps if you buy a sexy nighty to Celebrate a WL milestone and make a show of it he will be more excited about your WL and quit his b@tch'in... Make it all about what is good for him. IE - good behavior helps you lose weight and feel better about yourself and you reward that with some naughtyness of your own that will tickle his fancy. ;-), you'd be surprised how well that can work on a whiney bellyaching spouse!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
