Ali thanks for your post! I am now just 2 weeks post op and some days I feel great and others I am like Vegas, I feel like I am 80!! lol! I have lost 9 pounds since surgery and a total of 21 since starting the preop diet.

All in all I would do it again in a heart beat. The discomfort is worth it if I am a healthier person in the end and live not only longer but a better life.

Now I really only have a little pain around my port area and I swear that it sticks out even though husband says it doesn't. Oh and sex can be a little bit uncomfortable, it kind of feels like the port is going to pop out...tmi I know but its weird.

Rcoleband, thanks for starting this thread, its great to hear success stories!! Keep up the good work.

Soontobehottie, that is so funny. Thanks for bringing up the sex thing. My boyfriend is like, "so October then?" Haha! I can't imagine a whole lot of writhing around with my band yet, but then I'm not opposed to just laying there and enjoying some good lovin' for a while. LOL!

I would have to agree that the surgeon doesn't quite prepare you for what you'll feel like after. i know everyone experiences pain differently but OMG was I underprepared. I also had horrible gas pain that I was not expecting. Also coughing or sneezing was literally like having someone rip into my side. I found sitting to be uncomfortable but standing up was just as bad. It did help to walk around the house a lot and I felt much better by the second day. At least then the gas pain was almost completely gone. After about a week I had almost no pain at all. Even though now 4 weeks out I still get a little surge of pain at the port site if I bend the wrong way.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
