Hey everyone!

I just got my first fill of 4 cc's in my 14 cc band on Tuesday. I don't feel any different than before! I get full a LITTLE sooner than I did before, but I thought that I would feel drastic restriction differences! Is this normal? I'm wondering if there's a leak in my tubing or somthing!

I felt almost nothing on my first fill, I felt a little more on my second fill and much more on my third (just yesterday).

Hi AppleBottom,

Yes this is normal.

I had very little restriction with my first fill which was also 4cc's but I have a 10cc band. Second fill was better had more restriction. then got the 3rd fill and was way to restricted I could not even get down hot coffee so had to get half of it out. Much better now I am at 6cc ina 10cc band.

Just remember everyone is different.

Some people get restriction with the first fill some not until the 2nd,3rd or 4th. But if you are getting fuller faster you are on your way.

Next fill you should feel more restriction.

Trish

Hi,

Feeling very little restriction is normal. You won't really feel any restriction until the 3rd, 4th or 5th fill. I depends on how much you doctor saline he puts in. So basically you are still on your own for weight loss. I just had my 3rd fill and I do have restriction now. Good luck on you journey.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
