no fill restriction..anyone else???

Recommended Posts

Hi I was banded on 7/25 almost a month ago and I have been on the progression diet.. I have been on mushy food for the last 3 weeks and have 2 more weeks to go on mushies.. however.. I have no fill in my band and yet I am very restricted.. I eat only the amount that they told me to and I am not hungry.. I have no appetite and I have to force myself to eat at times because i am breastfeeding and I know I need it.. I believe I am already around 20lbs down although I havent had the official weigh in..

I am susposed to get my first fill in a week and this bothers me for 2 reasons.. 1 I got the band so that when I was preg I could have the band opened up with no restriction and eat how I need to eat.. 2nd if they fill me now I may have even more problems eating..

has anyone else expierenced this?:smile2:

I am having some of the same issues you are. I got banded on July 15th. I have had no fill yet but I feel pretty restricted. When I eat solid food only though. When I eat yogurt or more liquid I am fine it's the more solid food that I can only eat an ounce at a time. You are probally still swollen. So give it some more time. The Dr. won't give you a fill if you tell him you are already having issues with eating now. My Dr. said one of his patients didn't need a fill for 9months. Also try drinking more Water. I seem to be tighter when I don't have enough water in my body.

I was banded on the 28th. I am just now starting to have a bigger appetite and feel less restriction. Here is what I think : When you are eating only liquids and mushies initially, your band feels tight. Then once you start eating solids, it starts to loosen up a bit to where you can gradually eat more. I didn't start being able to eat more until I started on solids. And I have never really overeaten, so I don't think I've stretched my stoma out.

Good/bad ? I don't know. It's much easier to get in all the Protein, and I am happy to be eating a few vegetables now too. I'm not an expert or anything, this is just my theory.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
