In fact I'm eating and thinking about drinking right now. This has been the hardest thing in the world for me to stop doing.

This one wasn't a challenge for me - thank heavens, as there is only so many challenges I can handle at one time!!!

Waiting for an hour after is problematic, but with my meal is a non-issue.

I drink right before I eat. I take a few sips with my meal if my mouth is too hot. And then I drink right after I eat. It also depends on how open I am. My band is pretty loose right now so I have no restriction and I drink more Water during my meals like this. When I have good restriction I usually just sip a little. Before I use to guzzle at least 3-4 glasses of tea down during my meal alone..

From the beginning, I have strictly followed my surgeon's guidelines--no drinking for 30 minutes before and 2 hours after a meal. It was weird at first, but now it is just normal. I didn't know how much of a difference it made until a couple of weeks ago when we took the kids out to a park/farm. I drank almost right after eating because it was so hot out and I was just starving the rest of the day. I didn't even think about it until later, then I realized what I had done. So, IMO, it makes a difference in how much you eat, how hungry you are, etc.

I'm used to it. I'm not even really thirsty until that 2 hour mark comes now.

I tend to get bloated and stuck feeling if eating and drinking at the same time I have noticed.....although if the food is very spicy I do have sips of something while eating.

I always drink when I eat, but not much. Maybe a half a glass of iced tea, whereas in the old days, it would have been two big glasses. I have a very strong gag reflex, so if food feels too dry going down the old gullet, it's not pretty. No problems with this slowing my weight loss, however. I still only eat three tiny meals a day.

Thank you so much, you sweetheart! Considering I began at "Severely Obese" I'm just tickled pink. Can't wait to hit 159 so I can be normal!

I voted Usually drink during meals, but more accurately, I take teensy sips, never drink or the meal would be done instantly as I would be stuck.

No matter what weight I get to, I will never be normal!:smile2:

Don't say that! Give yourself some more time and it will happen!! I have finally begun to believe that I will make it to the goal, I'm scared of what my poor body will look like at that point. I have serious bat wings going and a saggy tummy that are definitely going to need to be fixed.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
