What the hell is wrong with people?

This is completely off topic. I just read an article - for the second time today that a child died in a locked car from heat exhaustion. What the hell is wrong with people? The little boy I just read about was three years old. The article said that he tried to get out of the car - managed to get out of his car seat and crawl over the front seat. When his mom got off her shift, AT A HOSPITAL, she broke the back window to get to him. She'd left the KEYS in the ingition! He was dead and the OR couldn't do anything to revive him. She forgot to drop him off at daycare. I don't care how tired I am or how much of a rush I'm in - I can't imagine I'd ever forget my child! My children aren't a set of keys or a hairbrush or a pen...It just pisses me off. No one should die from forgetfullness. You know he was crying for his mommy....I just don't understand these people.

That happened right here in Houston, Texas. The 2nd 3 year old boy within 24 hours. Just the day before another 3 year old boy on the other side of town also died in a car after being forgotten by his grandma.

It's incomprehensible to me. I have a 15 year old and and 8 year old and I just can't imagine how that can happen. I am tired, I work full time, I commute 1 hour each way to work, I've just never, ever forgotten that my children are in the car, no matter how tired and distracted I got and believe me I've been pulled in so many directions at times I thought I was coming unglued.

I think I'm a pretty forgetful person in general. But how in the world could you forget your child is in the car? I tend to forget things that don't matter much, like washing a load of clothes or misplacing my keys or phone, but not something (or someone) that means sooooo much to me. I have a 2 year old and I just can't comprehend it. That poor child! I can't even imagine what that child went through. It's a terrible way to die. It just boils my blood!!! This is why I hate watching the news and reading the newspaper!

Unthinkable. Stories like that just haunt me. I also can't imagine the life-long grief that the poor mother is facing. Don't get me wrong -- she's 100% at fault here -- but the pain she is in (and will feel forever) has got to be intense.

Where was the car parked? I'm thinking it must have been in a parking lot with other people walking by. It is ashame no one saw the child especially if the child got out of his car seat and was moving around.

It was in a parking lot (I seem to remember underground or covered, but I'm not sure). The problem was the windows were tinted, and while security patrolled the lot regularly, they couldn't see in (unless they were intentionally trying to).

A person would have to be retarded to forget about a child or animal. I can only think these individuals are stupid or don't care.

I live right across the street from that hospital...off Huffmeister and 290....DH pointed to the parking lot and explained the story to me.

It's SICK. I don't get it. I want to pummel that lady. OR just lock her in a hot car. Let her out just in time, remove her uterus and then let her go.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
