So I have 5 poke holes...all of which they put bandages on. But never told us when to take them off...they prescribed some ointment and how many times a day to use it, but not when to start using it...

Anyone have any advice on when these things can come off...I know I should be asking the doctor, and believe me I have...seems they have better things to do.

I posted this blog...again for those considering Mexico, know you are going to be dealing with this:

So I got banded on monday. Today is Friday. I was discharged Tuesday from the hospital in TJ. I had a feeling that what I am about to write would happen.

Since Tuesday, right after I left the hospital I had one more question about the cream they prescribed for me and when I can take the bandages off...The hospital (though I have emailed 3 times and called) have yet to get back to me and answer. Instead, the MedToGo coordinator called some other doctor in the business and got the questions answered.

Here is my point for those thinking about Mexico...what you get is what you pay for. They told me up and down at the hospital, "just call" "just email" if you have anything...what a crock of BS. I understand these doctors are busy and have busy days, however, responding to an email like that takes 3 minuts tops. It is a clear case of I paid them to do a service and they did...well and the business transaction is over. If any of this is something you don't want to be involved with rethink going to Mexico.

In other news all is well (regardless) and I am under 200#s YAY!:)

I was banded on Tuesday and released Wednesday. I was told to take the bandages off Thursday to shower and put bandages back on the big incision. I have been putting smaller band aids on the little incisions but was told didn't have to. The staples freak me out.

Hope this helps.

I was taped up underneath the bandages. The protocol was wear the bandages for 3 days and sponge bathe. Remove bandages on the fourth day and shower. No baths for 4 weeks and no swimming for 6 weeks. I have no cream because I am taped. The tape will fall of in 7 to 10 days when I heal.

Morning, I too was taped no other bandages. I took a shower before I left the hospital. I stayed one night. I was told the tape will fall off on their own. No cream. I'm day 6 after surgery today and they look like they are starting to fall of. I shower every night and have resumed sleeping on my stomach.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
