All of a sudden I get this twist in my stomach that tells me I shouldn't do this (lapband). Even though I have made up my mind to go thru with it I just get fleeting thoughts about if I made the right decision, if I am going on the right path in life...etc. It took me a long time just to decide to go thru with it and I still have 3 visits to go before I can even get it authorized by my insurance. Anyone else have this happen to them and should I be concerned? Thanks:huh2:

That's nature to waiver. I did, too. However, it was the best decision I made regarding my health. I am 61 years old, soon to be 62 and with the weight lost I will add 20 more years to my life. I was banded April 14 and lost 41 pounds to date and had no problems. I wish you well.

I think that to some extend we all go through this beforehand. It is a HUGE life change. For what it is worth I just kept reminding myself that the knot in my stomach was fear and I would not allow myself to be denied this wonderful opportunity only for fear. I have not been sorry for one moment. I was banded on 6/26 and I have lost 40 lbs. I already feel such a change and I have no regret. Good luck to you- whatever you decide.

Let me tell you that I was laying in the hospital bed in the holding room just an hour before surgery and I so wanted to get the hell out of there. It was going thru my head that maybe I made the wrong decision as well. I have lot 37# and I can't describe how much better I feel already. I think most of us have these feelings! Good Luck.

I second what everyone else has said. Like Renee I was in the hospital with wanting to leave. I cried all the way into OR - seroiusly - like a baby. I'm down 40 pounds since April and without a doubt do not regret one moment.

Everyone else is right. I would be more surprised if someone said they did not waiver on this decision since it involves a lifestyle change. I waivered as well and it took me more than 2 years to make the decision. Since banding, I have never waivered. It was the best decision I have ever made.

thanks everyone-I have been kinda down lately and I haven't been doing my weight loss goal stuff (like walking on my break at lunch or going on the eliptical machine when I get home) I just gotta get up and moving...and keep telling myself that this is all for a good reason-to be healthier.

I am right there with you. I know I am scared & just the other night very seriously thought about stopping the process. (Still waiting for insurance authoirzation) So I decided to go to the support group meeting in our area which is next week. Hope I don't chicken out before then, but no I am getting my big girl pants on and going to show everyone that I can do this for my health, my life and my family.

I hope it helps to know you're not alone with your fear! Hang in there and get er' done!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
