Need ideas for quick meals

Recommended Posts

For Breakfast I either have a south beach bar with 10 grams Protein, or a cup of fat free sugar free yogurt with a cup of Kashi crunch Cereal mixed in it. lunch and supper could be a Healthy Choice dinner, tuna lunch kit, Wendy's grilled chicken (no bun) with side salad, subway salad with chicken breast or turkey breast and lately for dinner I've been having cheese cubes and dried turkey sticks they have a lot of protein! Oh, I eat a lot of cottage cheese with pineapple on top. They even sell those Breakstone Doubles they are good and have protein!!!

Where do you find sugar free yogurt, and what brand is it? I can't find sugar free.

I eat the light and fit by dannon, its artificially sweetened, but I re-read the label and it does contain fructose... Sorry for any confusion.

I went on the web and looked for low carb recipes and found "flax seed" , sounds yuk but is good.

I have made up in advance, flax seed muffins, put them in the freezer, and are defrosted by the time i get to work. Also there is a recipe for flax meal Peanut Butter hot cereal and it is great, takes 3 minutes.

I could go on and on, but one more is a pizza, i make up in advance makes 8 servings, quick, freeze, take with you meal that is totally satisfying. That I found on lapbandtalk.com. If you can't find them let me know i will

get them for you.

I just boil several eggs at the beginning of the week, and then put them in little individual snack baggies in the fridge ready to grab. String cheese to grab on the go is good too (they have low-fat & fat-free, but I still like the regular!) There are also now little 100 calorie packs of almonds - regular and a cocoa-covered version.

I have the same issue, but during my 6 month nutrition I learned soooo much! I usually grab a weight watchers string cheese, cereal (dry to eat in /car) or english muffin or piece of toast and a fruit. If I don't have a cheese stick I will take a HB egg. With these items I can pack a breakfast ahead of time, and take it to eat on my way to work. Good luck!!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
