5 day pouch test

Recommended Posts

I am on a plateau and have even gained 5 pounds...I am very frusterated!!

I am curious on who has done this? What were your results? Did it jump start your weight again?

I only have 30 more to go, and I know that I will plateau, but this has been almost 6 weeks and not a loss...just gains.

I need to get my head back and just am curious who this has worked for.

THANKS!!!

Yes, I did the 5 day pouch test and lost 9 lbs. It was easy to follow, and got me back on track.

Hope it works for you.

This is an only Protein diet, hence the weight loss. Sorry to sound negative but this is an unrealistic way to eat. What happens when you start eating a variety of foods? COmplex carbs are an important part of a healthy diet.

I did it for 5 days. I followed the 5 day pouch test just as it is stated. I did eat some watermelon and canalope. I only eat whole wheat Pasta. I do not eat any white carbs. I eat pinto Beans, green beans, salads, so you see I do eat other things. It does just what it states, jump starts you back to eating what you should be eating. And if you stay on program (what you should eat for the lab-band) you will not gain it back. I have lost 55 lbs. I can't reset my ticker.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
