Now smaller size, clothes to keep?

Recommended Posts

I am now down to mostly size 10 but some 8 ,and some 12, but 98 percent is 8 - 10,mostly in 10. Going through my clothes shall i hand on the the size 12's or get rid of so can never never put the weight back on?? i am concerned if put on any medication eg the mirena iud- this contains slow release hormones, and when i was on the pill i put on weight on thighs, and cellulite worsened, and my bust cup swells,or shall i just keep some bras? i have dropped a few sizes am 80lbs down.NEVER WANT TO BE FAT AGAIN,although may decide on boob job at some stage.:tongue_smilie:

I would never keep much more than one size up. I know I am keeping a couple of things that might look flattering on me during pregnancy and are a little bigger.

It is so hard to let go of things for me. I am even a little sad now because I have some relatively new clothes (purchased over the last couple of months) that were a little tight when I got them and are much too big now. I feel compelled to keep them, but whyyy???

I thought I would wait until I lost more weight to buy a few things but I found that pants that are too big and have the saggy derriere look are just unflattering and make me look bigger than I am. I hate to look frumpy in the summer time, it would be easier if it is winter :0).

Anyways, I got my donate bags a filling up :0). I am going to go for family and friends first to take anything they want.

Congratulations on the size 10 . . . I can't wait to join you!!!

By the way, I just wanted to mention something I find really odd. After banding I lost weight a lot faster than now, but my clothes sizes took foreverrrrr to change sizes. I stayed in an XL or size 18 for months and months (my husband joked with me that maybe I was tweaking the scale every morning to show a loss during that phase). Now, my clothes fit really differently every few weeks and I am losing slower.

Big weight loss = relatively no size change, moderate weight loss = continuous size changes . . . what is up with that????

Heather,

I am experiencing the same thing. The scale is not moving but I am getting smaller. At first I just thought that people were giving me false compliments...everyone was commenting about how much weight I lost but no difference when I weighed. But now I am finding that my clothes really are getting looser dispite what the scale says.

I would get rid of the clothes. Does you surgeons office have a clothing swap? Mine does, I haven't inquired about it yet but it is looking like I may need to before too long. I believe that there is also a clothing swap on this site.

Pre-band, I was forever dieting and luckily I held on to my smaller clothes always intending to get back on the dieting rollercoaster. I was size 18 pre-banding, and am now wearing my 16's which are getting loose. I have some size 14's but not enough. I have bagged up my size 18's and will donate them to the clothing swap. I have several pair of new jeans that I hate to get rid of but they don't fit and I am determined to see to it that they never will fit again.

I don't know if my surgeons office has a clothes swap I will check though. I have just been bagging up my clothes and was going to make a photo album online of them and let other bandsters pick them out for free as long as they pay shipping.

FYI: There is a clothing exchange thread on this site somewhere.

Thank you for the repiles, am going to get rid of my larger clothes to friends then what left will give to the op shop to raise money for animals. Made my decision thanks to you guys, yep never going to get fat again so they are just taking up space and can get put to good use elsewhere.

If anyway finds themselves with clothing int he 16-18 size range, I am desperate for clothing. I would be more than happy to buy them from you or pay shipping, whatever you would like. I currently have one pair of pants that fit me and not many shirts at all. Thanks for the consideration.

Debbie

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
