First fill, and NSV!

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill on Wednesday. Easy-peasy, no worries at all. Only 1cc and no noticeable restriction. But, I go back at the end of month, sooner if there is no assistance in the hunger arena.

Yesterday I flew from Vegas to Phoenix to spend the weekend with friends... and not only did I *not* struggle to buckle in (I can admit there were times I thought I would need an extender).... I cinched the buckle 8 inches!!! The belt actually sat low and tight, like they tell you, and I didn't spill over into the next seat. I felt positively lithe! ha ha ha

I was giddy... and the guy sharing the row with me probably thought I was on drugs. No swollen feet at the end of the flight, no uncomfortable me hanging out past or over the arm rests... I was so happy!

Thanks, Jack!

You know, I have been told a lot lately that I "carry [my weight] well." Translation, most people don't believe me when I tell them I started out over 300 lbs. This kind of NSV makes me feel so fabulous when it's not so obvious that 45 pounds are gone. I can't wait until it's patently obvious that I have dropped all this excess crap! =)

That must have been Amazing!

I have to say that I have had to use an extender and it was mortifying. Even though the flight attendant was quiet about it- I felt like everyone knew and I just wanted to crawl up and die...

I will be flying in February and will remember your wonderful story!

My NSV for the day- I am home today unexpectedly as my girls are sicky poo (little fevers and ear infections)

There was nothing for me to eat- so I took out a weight watchers lasagna and was full after eating 1/2 of it!!! I remember when I would eat one and laugh because it felt like I hadn't eaten at all. Then I'd have a salad, then some fruit, & still feel unsatisfied... How insane!

See you Sunday!!!

THAT IS AWESOME!!!

Sorry I won't be able to make the meet and greet on Sunday. Finances are tight this week. I will make it a point to be at the next one.

I can so relate to the airplane story. If you fly Southwest the only other thrill will be when somebody takes the middle seat between you and somebody else.. WHY, because that means You guys look skinner than other people on the plane. That's a NSV....

Thats awesome congrats!! I am actually anxious for my next flight just so I can test out the seat belt. I flew to Seattle 2 weeks before my banding in May to take a cruise and the flight was awful. I kept my extender as I never wanted to ask for one again. I can't wait to hand it to the flight attendant and say here I won't be needing this anymore!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
