Isopure fruity drink thingies...

Recommended Posts

Today I ordered some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury samples online to try out for flavor purposes. I'd love to start trying the Isopure Fruit drinks but the only available online are purchased by the case. I really don't want 12 of something that I "may" not like.

Does anyone know if GNC sells these as singles to try? We have a GNC that just opened close by and I'll probably go check it out for myself next week but, was curious if anyone knew offhand.

Thanks! :)

I don't know if GNC sells singles or not of these. But just have to put in my 2 cents, Isopure fruit punch and nectar peach, absolutely disgusting! Taste awful. Now that's just my opinion, and a few others since I tried to get rid of the containers to others. It just doesn't taste like anything good. I would not waste money on a container of it. Take it from me, I already did. Check out vitalady.com for samples of Protein Drinks.< /p>

Thanks for the info Chrissi. I will remember that about the fruit punch and nectar peach...I'm actually not a big fan of fruit punch OR peach flavored stuff (I do like FRESH peaches however, lol) I've made note to stay away!

I've tasted the Melon something or other and wasn't crazy about it. I have been buying a couple a week so that I'll have enought for my day before surgery liquid diet and for the week after surgery. My friend told me they are better over ice.

My GNC doesn't carry the singles but I get mine at the commissary on the military installation I work at.

My opinion, Isopure is not worth it. You can get singles ar GNC and Vitamin Shoppe, but they are very expensive and taste horrible. If you want a high Protein supplement, I like the New Whey Bullets that come in 24g or 42 g of protein. The fruit punch is really good. They taste nasty if you drink them straight from the tube, but are Kool-aid-ish tasting if you add them to a bottle of Water.< /p>

Where can the Whey Bullets be purchased from?

I buy mine at The Vitamin Shoppe. They do have an online store. Bought a carton of 12-42g bullets today for $35. The carton of 12-24 g are $33, so the 42g are more cost effective.

I like Nature's Best® Isopure Zero Carb specially pineapple Orange banana and Alpine Punch. It's 40 grams of 100% pure ion exchange whey protein isolate.

160 calories, 55mg Calcium and 45mg Potassium

Sweetened with aspartame-free Sucralose, the only lower calorie sweetener made from sugar. Preservative free. Lactose free. Fat free.

Please be aware Whey Protein Bullets are:

176 calories, 42 grams protein, 2g carbs, Og sugar plus a Vitamin & mineral profile. Splenda sweetened.

Splenda sweetened = Aspartame which has been know to produce headaches, body aches, bloating, and gas. CNN had a report about how artificial sweeteners may actually cause the body to not metabolize foods correctly.

Also I was told your body can only process about 20 grams of protein at a time so split your intake.

Dr. Oz also recommends splitting your Multi-Vitamin between the morning and afternoon.

Well I must be odd man out I like Isopure, I drink half a bottle at a time in a glass of ice. taste like gatorade to me. I also like thier shakes. I get all mine at GNC they sell them in singles. The shakes are REALLY good with a half of bannana in them. But I think youll have to try all kinds to see what you like best. Like I said I like Isopure and I know of other ppl who also like it, but its all in what you like.

I don't now if it is my area or not, but when I went to GNC to buy a case of grape Isopure (its my FAVORITE) they told me they were phasing out Isopure and discontinuing it (she didn't know if the manufacturer was cutting the line or our local GNC's)

Grape is awesome .. hehe the apple and fruit punch ones have to much back bite...

I think I'm going to run out to GNC today and see what I can find. If I can just try some of the singles, I'll know what I can tolerate and if I need a case I can always buy it online. :tt2:

Thanks for all the info and advice...I know I don't have a surgery date yet, but it's important to me that I'm prepared before hand so I'm not rushing around trying to find Protein supplements and end up buying stuff that's going to make me gag!! hehe

I also ordered powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury samples....I've heard some people say Unjury is disgusting. I didn't even bother with the unflavored, since that is supposedly the worst?

What is everyone's favorite Protein drinks that they know of off hand? I'm interested drinks without sugar and low carbs.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
