What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!

Recommended Posts

everyday growing up was a struggle, each and everyday I had to face not only kids in school , teachers (yes teachers), strangers, and yup family members I was the youngest of 5 kids and my life was hell every single damn day. I gotta say I must be made of steel for me to still be sitting here. I don't like to toot my own horn but ......toot friggin toot in every jerk off that went outta there way to make my life not worth living each and everyday.... may God have mercy on you. p.s I know this isn't what you asked for but I just cant bring myself to relive all the nasty things that were done to me. may you all find inner peace.

Wow, well of all these I have learned one thing. I don't have the most obnoxious mother in the world.... There are plenty that are in a tie for first place

A few years back I was talking to a guy who had the nerve via text to let me know I was to fat to date in public but if I wanted to come over (editing here) for sex that would be ok... He never (editted) had sex with a fat girl before.

Yeah well, the friends I was with at the time I received that message.... Knew where to find him...and they weren't happy that I was in tears. A few days later I received an I'm sorry I upset you text....

Two of us at work had to have someone fired which did not go well. So he cussed my coworker and then turned and cussed me out but before each cuss word he added you fat .....

I guess he had no idea that I knew that I was fat.

One time when I was flying and had to get to my seat the person that I was going to sit rolled their eyes and groaned out loud and asked to be reseated.

Since I never had a weight problem before I got married my sisters blamed my wife for making me fat as if she would tie me down and force food down my throat.

Since then all my sisters have struggled with weight issues and thanks to the band am smaller than all of them

i had responded on here (somewhere before) of people asking me if i was pregnant and once being (moo'd at as i walked across parking lot)....oh memories to make me feel all warm and fuzzy on a damn cold NC day.....

but i was thinking, the rudest things said to me....and directly to me have been FROM ME.

if i say negative things about myself and think it all the time, what the heck???

so we need to take control of our thinking......screw what other people say or think about us as those people dont care anyhow (ignoring comments/posts directed is the best response in my book)....haters gonna hate as my ole man told me last week..

yes people who say things to us or if we hear it, hurts and it makes us want to say WTF and just eat and make ourselves feel better for about 3 seconds of food relief and then the woe is me starts.......

so this year, 2014, make an effort to say nice things to yourself....and think it....

look in the mirror and go yeah, i have done well.......and not damn i have so far yet to go....(i find myself doing that).....and what good does that do??? seriously..it does nothing..

YOU are gorgeous as you are now, regardless of your weight or BMI

what matters (is the inside)....and yes i know the world is blind to that

but being true to yourself and what you believe in...matters more

than whatever or whomever says.......including what we say to ourselves.

I thought it might be FUN to ask you all what the rudest comment you have had is and how you responded!

This is getting into personal territory. Probably really what planted the seeds for weight loss surgery and made me say, "Enough". I can remember going to visit family in California in 2012, and I think a truckload of guys leaned out of their car and yelled at me that I was fat. I didn't really catch it, but I remember my friends looking at me apologetically.

I had also posted a comment on a friends Facebook page, and everyone was giving it a lot of likes. Some street thug gangster guy who had no connection with the discussion joined in and told me how he would normally "holla at b*****s", but he wouldn't bother with someone who looked like me. I tried reporting the post, but it was never removed, so in spite of the popularity of my thread, I took it down out of embarrassment.

I went on vacation to Florida in 2011 to see my mom, and she wanted to take me to get a pedicure. The lady who was doing my kept trying to talk to me even though I was trying to relax. It's like she'd insult me a little bit, and then back off. She just wouldn't STFU. She said something about how I looked tired and "Windy" (whatever that means), and when I snapped at her she said never mind and went back to doing her job. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy the pedicure. My mom spent the latter part of the appointment arguing with them about the tip/no tip because they'd given crappy service. Oh and, when I went out to the car with my mom she had a heart to heart with me, offering me monetary incentives if I would just lose weight. I know she was trying to help, and I would have done the same thing with my daughter, but it really drove home the fact that I couldn't run away from myself and really even relax on vacation.

Thinking about these rude people still pisses me off, honestly. Just because someone carries extra weight doesn't make them less of a person. And, this type of thing makes me really not want to leave the house and just go get the bariatric surgery tomorrow so I can get past this s***.

Me? Thanks (if so).

Sorry to hear about your rude ex-husband, but I guess the good news is--he's your ex-husband! I don't think having fair weather friends or spouses is ever worth it. We should take a moment to remember those who helped us and valued us when we were at our lowest. Those are the ones worth keeping.

Yea - I took down my original post because I thought it was too deep. Yes I agree that life is too short to be with someone whose a jerk.

Well, my mom used to tell me to "suck it in" when we were in public. She also said she was going to put a lock on the refrigerator. That's true mother's love right there.

I was told that I might be pretty if I wasn't so fat by a kid in high school.

When my first daughter was a year old, one of the ladies I worked with said, "are you pregnant again, or are you just fat?" Nice.

Wow, really some insensitive comments there. About the people who tell you you might have more worth if you weren't fat, I'd pretty much leave them in the dust when you lose the weight. If they can't stand by you at your worst, they don't deserve you at your best. #ShamelessMemePlug

I was at Starbucks years ago when I was on a low carb diet and had lost LOTS of weight (at least for me I was skinny). I was sitting next to a window and then I took off my sweatshirt because I was hot. An old man across from me said, "You know what is a natural cause of making someone so warm? Excess weight."

Come to think of it, my Dad said something pretty rude to me several years back. I was gaining weight (depression or whatever), and when I was up at his mountain cabin with him, I commented on the fact that I was a little cold. He got a smirk on his face and said, "Surprising you are cold, with all the excess insulation." Really, it doesn't matter whether I'm 130 or 300 lbs, sometimes my feet have poor circulation and that comment wasn't needed.

His wife, I guess, likes to brag here and there that she's dropped 5 lbs. Most people will ignore her or give her an atta boy. One day Dad said, "You've lost 5 lbs so many times, I'm surprised you don't just disappear."

Maybe he needs a little bit more work on his consideration/people skills.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
